This has developed some nice Burg aromatics over the last few years. But the oak is as often with Tollot just really heavy. Quite polished tannins and high acidity give this a good frame though. Ready to enjoy. 17/20

Red cherry and red berry with smoke and early signs of forest floor. Delicate and elegant expression with no hard edges. With some reluctance to begin with, which could easily be swirled away, and with notes of compote (and loss of balance) on day 3, which might indicate, that this does not live forever. Recommend to drink in the near term.

More red fruited and forward than the Chlosterberg before it, with less complexity and personality; bright, crunchy Pinot fruit on the palate with some balsamic notes and herbs. A delicious burgundy to enjoy now. 17/20

Let breathe in bottle for about an hour. Primarily red fruit, raspberry and strawberry and secondary earth and smoke notes. Could do with a tad more acidity but aside that well balanced and very delicious.

This 2008 needed more time than other vintages to show its beauty. Shows a level of freshness in both nose and mouth that is typical for the vintage. Lots of raspberry and some red currant. While I didn't like the wine (compared to 2007, 2009 and 2010 vintages) in an earlier stage where it seemed quite harsh (tannins!), even a bit sour compared to those big round easy-drinking vintages, I must admit that I fell in love with it tonight. …

Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, red fruit - raspberry and strawberry, brush pile, forest floor, and saddle leather. Palate: Medium bodied, subdued red fruit attack, smooth edges, low acid, good mid-palate persistence, leather and earthy notes in the back-end. Finish: Medium length dominated by slightly under-ripe red fruit, subtle spice, and earthiness. Low volume but quite pure, great balance from front to back, sneaky good.

Drank over two days. This one definitely needs more time; Disjointed on the first day with acidity dominating; raspberry and dark fruit with sharp tannins; filled out and came into balance by the next day; dark cherry; moderate balanced finish on the second day.

The Lavières is a really beautiful wine, with a complex and youthfully expressive bouquet of dark wild berries, black cherry, woodsmoke, potpourri and rich forest floor, framed by just a touch of oak vanillin. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and intense, with lovely balance and beautiful amplitude and dimension. A real success.

sehr schön, wunderschöne nase, fruchtig am gaumen, knackige tannine (2008) mit ein paar bitteren tönen, die mich aber überhaupt nicht stören. perfekt jetzt. wollte mich eigentlich zurückhalten, aber ruckizucki ist eine halbe flasche verdunstet. freu mich schon auf morgen, teil 2.

Dark ruby. Red-fruit dominated, but has more depth and roundness than many Savigny's. Very good tannins and acid balance. Marvelous now, but will improve further. This is very fine.
