I opened this because I'd read that it was a bit past its prime... cellared well, but would have been better last year (: Yellow-gold colour with macadamia nut and preserved lemon aromas. Medium-bodied, medium legs. Definitely nutty, slightly carmelised flavours, and a bit 'hot' - not the fresh & crisp Chablis I had hoped. Texture is a bit coarse and quite chalky, with a medium finish. Drink up, it's not getting any better.

Highlights from Mike and Cathy’s 2024 Christmas lunch (Wellington, NZ) : Served double blind, small pour. Clearly showing the fruit weight and power a Grand Cru Chablis. Although it also exhibited true Chablis typicity, I found it a little too broad, full-bodied and diffuse. I thought it might be a 2016 but was kicking myself on the reveal as 2015 was the obvious vintage. A quality Grand Cru Chablis but I doubt this wine has the acid profile to make …

Quite developed at this stage. Has a decent amount of ripeness and weight from the vintage, yet it's excellent balance carries it through with a touch of remaining brightness. Still paired extremely well with briny oysters and garlic butter spot prawns.

Drinking well right now. High acidity, herbal. Less minerality, fruit and power than expected. Maybe a little short. Liked it, needs more to deserve a higher score and expected more from a premier cru.

Citrus, chalk some tropical fruit. I expect more from this producer and terrior. With baked pike stuffed with citrus butter and dill. Totally good match. Prefer the others I have had. Still one of my top producers i Chablis

PNP. Cork perfect. This is a little over the top for my liking. Doesn’t remind me of Chablis reall y - more on the oaky Chardonnay side than mineral driven. Ok.

served with Simon and Garfunkel chicken - what a feast....the wine was bit overpowerd by the many flavors - everyone loved the chablis on its own as it sipped very well - a bit bland for my taste but im going with the majority here.

Very developed but still 2-3 years of good drinking. Still lemon/citric centric with accents of rubber, minerals, and dried grass on the edges. Some but not much acid or even nuance to take this to the next level. Still solid and better than most Chardonnay in this price/age range.

Nose: Lemon custard, Melon and Citrus notes florals and a touch of saline/marine note. Palate: Gorgeous silky palate feel that slides across the palate with a slight viscosity and roundness, but is well balanced with flinty minerality and cutting acidity. Peach, crisp apple, and lemon custard notes with a nice slate/mineral and tiny nuance of spice. Finish: Clean acidic and fresh with citrus and slate. What a value. Consumed over the course of the weekend, and this was a consistently …

PNP. Cork perfect. Color straw. Swishing shows great acidity and light minerality. Sipping shows more fullness but this is perfectly balanced. I really like the lightness and freshness of this as well as lack of heavy oak...

PnP. Very interesting entry level Chablis. Much more balanced than the Terroir de Fye. The citrus/lemon, stony minerality, and acidity blend together to present a more balanced and heavier in the mouth wine than the Terroir de Fye. Should have several years of pleasure ahead of it. Great QPR at $20 (on sale) and will definitely buy again... and again.

This greatly impresses me every single time I taste, offering so much for such a small price. I'd put this up against some real heavy hitters in a blind tasting, and wouldn't be surprised if it won. Bright yellow gold color. Lovely mineral-driven nose with limestone, very deep, and lovely lemon-kissed fruit, for me a textbook Chablis. Follows up on the palate with the same sensations showing a tangy, rich, medium-bodied mouthfeel. If it is missing anything, it is a …

Medium yellow. Nose shows nice fruit with limestone, mineral, chalky accents; very fine and nuanced; precise. Excellent wine in the mouth, wonderful balance of fruit, acid. Rich and full, with a long and very lovely finish. Wow. Incredibly for a wine with this pedigree. 4-13-17-8: 92/100.

At $20/bottle this has become my "house white" lately. Pale yellow in color. Aromas of stone fruit. Tastes of similar supple fruit but still retains a nice acidic core. Maybe it's a bit simple but nonetheless remains quite well balanced. I think it's an outstanding example at the price point.

This was actually the 2015. What a nice wine! Popped and poured, and out came the essence of pure chardonnay from Chablis! Beautiful brilliant golden yellow. Nose very pure with a laser beam focus. Lovely fruit in the mouth, I just kept going back for another glass. Excellent balance and texture. The finish is a revelation with excellent complexity of fruit that lasts a long while. While this lacks the complexity of its more expensive cousins, you could do a …

A private dinner (Restaurant Gabriel Kreuther *, New York City, NY, USA) : Embryonic, not easy to assess. Ripe fruit but tight at the same time, hint of yeast, crisp but rounded, floral and pure, chalky, apple, good length. Needs 6-12 months to settle.
