Served with Carbonarra Pasta as part of a 6 course tasting menu. Decanted 3 hrs and was a crowd favorite...even amount those who didn't really know what they were drinking. Medium dark color with a floral, mineral, and woody nose. Flavors of dried fruits, cherry, cedar and a beefiness that really pulled things together. Balanced tannins and on the bigger side of Brunello's. Medium building finish. No hurry to drink this one.

Solid wine, very mineral forward, limited fruit. Tannins very mellow. Very drinkable. Had with cacio e pepe and pinsa. Great value for the price.

Nice well balanced Brunello, but certainly needs 2+ hrs of decanting. Upon popping the cork it was very aromatic and bright, but quickly went a bit flat and boring...until coming back to life a few hours later. No rush on drinking this one.

Pretty nice after an hour in the decanter. Perhaps a bit thin, but tasty.

Needs 2 hours to open up. Paired with lamb chops. Decent Brunello. Traditional. No rush to drink up.

Drinking great right now. Pairing well with marinara and mozzarella. Would definitely buy this again! Drank next to a 2008 and was smoother and less tannins on the finish.

Ruby red and color consistent with varietal. Earth notes dominate the nose. Black fruit flavors with some tartness. Approachable, but still not at full maturity.

Medium bodied with pure flavors of strawberry and soft leather. Not huge although put on some weight after 2 hrs of decanting. May improve with more cellaring.

Additional note, drank very well on day two but was pretty bad on day 3. Kept in refrigerator with a shot of argon from initial pour to day 3.

Gave it about 30 min. Nice wine, great mouthfeel, long finish. Good value for the price imo.

Decent as it does have the Brunello pedigree, but still too light and simple to amount to much

Earthy nose, forrest floor, aging fruit of plums and blackberries. Smooth initial mouthfeel with faded fruit then surprisingly complex finish with mild tannins. Reminded me of a Burgundian Pinot.

Thyme, potpourri and clove aromas lead to black cherry, leather and tobacco flavors that linger forever. Great acidity/fruit balance and full-body density. Paired beautifully with lamb kabobs.

In the glass it's a deep ruby, very slight bricking at edge...fast thick legs...nose is earthy, subdued fruit, slight ethanol..... Tongue is acidity, light cherry, leather, drying fine tannins... It's just an ok wine...forgettable wine...

Dark ruby color, with a nose of red cherry. The first sip is begins with by a flash of soothing texture and is rapidly replaced by a somewhat grippy and drying tannin and a light sour cherry acidity. The swallow is very dry, with a somewhat mouth stripping tannin and tart acidity. Right now this 9 year old wine is mired in a state not especially delicious, where the best thing to do is to give the wine more time …

7 hr decant and still rather harsh. Drinkable but not really great. Let sit overnight and the harshness disappeared but the flavor profile was just adverage. Really could not pick out anything specific. Ok finish. This, at a minimum, needs several more years in a cellar. Perhaps my 2nd blttle will improve with more age but right now I am wishing I had not bought any of the 2010.

Decanted 4 hours, great nose, flavors of almond and marzipan come to the for front. a little simple but very pleasent to drink and great qpr. I don't think you can ask much more of a wine in this price range.

Good. Floral nose. An unexceptional but drinkable sangiovese. Fairly typical varietal characteristics.

Tight is the right word, but also a fairly mellow wine with soft tannins. Maybe it needed more decanting, and 2nd day was a bit better after pump and store overnight, but not getting that much from this yet.

The wine looks Brick colored and has Cherry on the nose. It tastes like Sour Cherry, and some spice. The body is Medium. The wine has Narrow texture. The wine finishes Medium. I liked this wine previously but it is now well past it's prime. Luckily it was my last bottle. If you have some I'd suggest drinking it sooner rather than later.

Classic Brunello but also easy to drink and approachable. Great for New World palettes. Soft fruit, soft tannins, velvety.

I opened this about an hour along with a 2007 San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere. I was curious to see how another Brunello from the 2007 vintage was drinking. I have had 3-4 bottles of the Lucere and I wanted to see if the 2007 Scopone was as fruit forward. It is a different wine entirely. The Scopone had a touch of fruit on the nose and was very tight. I held off drinking it for an hour …

Medium red. Really nice fresh cherry and mineral nose. Very nice fresh balanced flavours and a decent finish. I had this at the Italian house here in Vancouver for the Olympics. This was the only bright spot in the Italian experience. The rest included, snotty people, lot's of please don't touch signs and some Hormel equivilent turkey ham on three day old bread. Way to go Italy.
