Belden Barns Sauvignon Blanc

Pleasant SB. Fruity and vanilla, pineapple note. Light on acid, sweeter than typical SB.

Pale straw in the glass with peach and grass on the nose, impersonating a NZ sauvignon blanc. On the palate the wine is lush and pretty bouquet of tropical fruits with big flavors of passionfruit and lemon. There’s a good core of acidity that remains through the long finish. Maybe a bit sweet for sauvignon blanc, but damn it’s delicious! Like their 2015, BB's sauvignon blanc is officially a favorite in our house.

A bouquet of kiwis, papaya, and other tropical fruits. A little too cloyingly sweet for my tastes.

Cloudy, slightly pale straw. Lychee, mango, pineapple. Medium to low acids, no tannins, not sweet. Lemon curd. Short balanced finish.

A real stunner in my book. Pineapple, grapefruit, a bit of lime juice; a similar profile to the Bevan Sauv Blancs, but without the thick texture to detract from the acids, which structure the wine without being sharp. The best California Sauvignon Blanc that I can remember ever having had. Wish I had a case.
