Amazing Rufuna. Starting to peak, but tannins still present. Lovely aged Sangiovese nose, with long and complex flavours typical of the varietal once it has 20 plus years of age. Palate staining length and finish that just lasts and lasts.

A deep cranberry color. Black cherry, tar, earth, oak and maybe some robatussion like quality. This is a rustic wine with a structure that seems to built more around the acidity than the tannins. Thursday, September 09, 2004 Bright cherry, dried cherry, earth, tar and mineral on the nose with an almost exactingly accurate palate. Excellent balance between the crisp acidity and fullness of the tannins. While probably not at its peak, this was an excellent wine which paired outstandingly with pork tenderloin in dried cherry-balsamic sauce with pecans. 13% alc.
