Medium pink. Lots of red fruit, strawberries, cherries and raspberries. There is a nice stoniness too. Dry textured berry flavours and a long dry finish.

Glowing salmon rose gold. Smells like sour peachy-O's and blood orange. Still very full of life, equal parts cream and acid, fruity with herbs on the periphery. Consistently wonderfully predictable.

Top notch. Melon, grapefruit, backed by structured acid and minerality. This is serious rosé.

PNP, copper colored. This showed stale and maderized aromas on the nose, with a fairly simple, flat palate. Premoxed.

Beautiful pastel pink in the glass with flavors of melon, strawberry, basil and anise. Always a stunningly good, quaffable wine. 13.5% alc. Without any food, but this is definitely a food friendly wine. Enjoyed over two evenings 09.05-06.25. Highly Recommended.

Opened 2 hours before dinner but needed some more time to open. On the nose mainly melon with a suggestion of ethereal, on the palate fresh and slightly creamy, ends long with a bitter note that did not match to the starter but did not matter with lamb we had as main dish. Similar as the bottle 2 years ago and still very good, but the fruit fades now slowly away, think it is time to drink it up.

Wine lunch that lasted 7 hours (Kevin and Vicki's house) : Drank a small glass over an hour at a tasting. Very consistent for this producer, quite dry with crunchy light red fruit. Extremely mineral-driven and chiseled.

Wine Lunch (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)) : Light-medium coral color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes plus. This was pretty mesmerizing from the get-go. Watermelon, crushed strawberries, spring flowers and peach on the vibrant nose. The palate is delicious, fresh and bright at 6 years now, and adds citrus and ocean minerality to the pretty fruits. Loved it. Dang near as good as rose gets. 92+ to 93pts.

When I first tried this on release it seemed wan compared to other vintages. Over the ensuing years it has fleshed out and deepened to the point where it’s among my favorites from the last many vintages. Odd how that happens, but the wine always has the last word. The palate richness and depth really grabbed me, and would not let go. Not a “pretty” rosé, but rather one that commands attention. Glad to have a couple of bottles left. …

The fruit may have faded a touch since a year ago, but not much. The bouquet and palate continue to show abundant melon notes with cantaloupe leading and watermelon peeking around. By the mid-palate the macerated strawberries with balsamic take center stage only to have herbs provence, anise and black pepper touch down on the finish for a high note. Always a show in a glass. The Baudry Rosé made a good showing next to this; different wines but both …

From a 1.5 liter/mag. Nose: Earth aromas and a little of the cornbread I get from more youthful bottles. Palate: Still decent acid levels with more mature fruit levels that are more muted. Love where this is now even though my preference is youthful bottlings. Still 92 points albeit for different reasons. The ageability of this Rose is amazing.

Very light pink/orange. Lots of funk for a Rose, also garrigue and light cherry. Very tasty cherry, raspberry and thyme flavours, soft dry finish. Aging made it more interesting but these wines are great on release.

Pale onion skin colour. Complex nose. Strawberry, peach, almonds, salty minerality, slight balsamic edge, garrigue herbs. High acidity. Very fine, tannins, just noticeable. Long finish. Lovely balance to this wine. Has the structure to age further. Excellent.

Another great Tempier. First of three. I will try to drink these other bottles soon. This was balanced and just a bit more muted than I am used to from Tempoer but still delicious. Enjoyed on Christmas 🎄 Eve as the starter wine before we moved to the reds.

This combines the sweetness of Provence rosé with the complexity of a fine white. The palate is considerably more structured and less fruity than any rosé I've ever had. Candied raspberries, yes, but also moss and even some flint. The acidity here has been balanced out by the bottle's emerging minerality, and so pairing it with sushi was a mistake. After dinner, however, the palate was beginning to open up: unbelievable middle notes of ground almonds, and some sea breeze …

The best rose I have had in years. This stuff is expensive, but it's a complete different species from the commodity, "thirst quenching" roses from Provence. It is simply delicious, very well made wine, which has structure, complexity, delicacy and, if this bottle was any indication, ages beautifully. Nowadays, it's hard to locate this stuff for less than $45-50/bottle, so it's not fairly compared to $20-25 Whispering Angel, Miraval, Peyrassol or Beylesse. This blows away Domaine Ott, which is often …

"Strawberry farts" (Chicago, IL) : This wasn't as exuberant as the 2021 Ste. Magdelaine -- it felt a little more rustic and backwards, with more structure and a more subdued palate. Drinks more like a serious white wine than anything.

Melon, predominately cantaloup, sprinkled with black pepper; oh, and then strawberries drizzled with balsamic … with herbs, maybe basil and anise. Stunning as always. 13.5% alc. Without food but in 91-degree heat and a gorgeous sky. 07.06.24. Highly Recommended.

Disappointing to me. I know a lot of the notes say this wine ages well and this vintage is in a good spot, but this bottle tasted past its prime to me. Lacked concentration and zip, with a slight hollow bitterness.

Bottle 10 of 12 purchased on release. Light pink and orange color. Gorgeous perfumed nose of melon, minerals and spice. Rich flavors of strawberry and citrus that really stain the palate. Perfectly balanced and drinking beautifully today. Domaine Tempier is one of my favorites from Provence and the six years of bottle of age proves the point that top tier rosé from Bandol benefit from bottle aging. Super tasty tonight with the flatbread pizza.

Mourvèdre (~ 50%) with Grenache and Cinsault,13.5% vol. Bottle 5 of 6. PnP and enjoyed over two days. On the nose melon, lime and a hint of orange peel (on day one mainly melon, on day two more lime), on the palate fresh and creamy, long finish with a nice bitter note. Very good, I liked it more on the first day (91+) than on the second (90) but this might be just a matter of taste.

From magnum. Really didn’t enjoy it at all (no one did) so i will say the bottle was defective given prior raving comments (although there was nothing wrong per se!). Might just be bottle variation. One more so will have the opportunity to reassess.

Planning Session II (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN) : Light salmon color. Drank a glass plus over an hour. I had brought a Tempier to a dinner about 2 months ago, and I was thinking it was a '16. When i went to write this up, I realized it was another '17. Well they really were quite similar. This was ultra fresh, lifted, strawberry, peach, white flowers, and sea air on the nose. Pearl Dinner by Don Saunders (Doc's Hall, St. Louis Park, MN) : Light salmon color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. I found this very evocotive, building over 15 minutes plus on the nose; gorgeous fruits, peach, blood orange, red berries, floral, earthy with less pronouced sea breeze. The palate is spot on with the same fruit profile and minerality, and then the earth, dried Provencal herbs and white pepper shows off on the mid and back end. These are …

Easter Sunday afternoon wine sipping poolside. Lovely melons, peach and a savory element on the nose that has a little mushroom/funk. Gorgeous texture, saline infused, juicy fruit strawberry/orange and a slightly bitter element that adds lift. I like the Tempier Rose with 5-6 years of age. This held up really well on day 2.

Out of magnum this was fresh as a daisy, bright and clean with a light corral color and elegant confit citrus and apricots. Showing signs of mature generosity, but not dissipated at all. This held up well over a few hours of dinner, and I kept returning to it for freshness and change of pace among a table full of reds. No problem here matching with spice and hints of Asian flavors, but also great with a dense chicken liver …

I can almost smell the minerals. The palate is ponderous, but as usual, this rose does not strike me as lively or acidic enough. The fruit profile seems dull and it needs at least a little sweetness for balance. I don't get it, and I've given up.
