Cherry and blackberry with leather and earth elements on the nose. Soft dark fruit palate with muted tannins and acidity Very easy drinking but nothing outstanding. My last bottle of this and probably a good thing.

Purchased for $27, a long, long time ago. Purchased with the intent to start a vertical to go along with my 2003 and 2004. Funny how life gets in the way. I knew I had this, but it was buried deep in the cellar. This has been through several moves, so it hasn't seen the best cellaring. But this is still surprisingly good. Obviously all secondary notes of leather, earth, barnyard and funk. Very slight hints of juicy cherry and …

Dark berry nose with a mesh oxide dark berry mouth soft tannins and still sufficient acidity and fruit that it was enjoyable. I suspect it’s past it’s prime.

brick with orange rim - pleasant nose of mixed red and black cherries - some complex smells developed over an hour - tannins largely resolved but still in presence - good acid - could have had more fruit and richer body - medium length finish - a good food wine which is drinking well now, but underwhelming for a super Tuscan

This was OK, it shows a bit of bricking around a dark core. Fruit forward and deep, with ripe to baked fruit that reminds of a Salice Salentino. It was a bit flat in the middle and closed with some pleasant earthy notes and dust. This is probably towards the end of it's life, though I know this particular bottle was not always stored in ideal cellar conditions.

Tasty bottle. Tannins in check, fruit not that prominent (to me). Pretty well-balanced. Seemed to benefit from letting it breathe for about 1 hour. No rush to drink, but I do not see any benefit from holding it.

unevolved, modern sangio. not too overripe, still classis red fruit, crunchy red cranberry, but with a weight that either demands more ageing or softening with shorter time in oak.

At Grimaldi's pizza in Dumbo, this showed very nicely with a deep rep/purple hue and loads of sweet dark cherry fruit on the nose. Anise, crushed violets, and some blueberry join in and follow through on the palate. Good acidity balances this wine and the tannins are now fully integrated. A good example of Italian Cabernet, and will hold for another 3-5 years.

Very nice sweet black cherry and cedar nose. Ripe layered black cherry and cassis flavors with nicely integrated tannins. This will develop a bit more but not too much before it peaks - so I will plan to drink my remaining 3 bottles over the next 12 to 18 months.

Hard tannins...should have stayed in the bottle for a few more years.

Had this with roasted chicken with Italian herbs -- just the right match. Medium body.

Slight brown tinge on the edge but clear red in the center. Alcohol nose of dried fruit and frsh cherry. Very hot nose of alcohol. Flavors of aged cherry fruit and alcohol. As time went on alcohol burned off and became more enjoyable.

While a wine with a decent structure found this to be astringent with a burnt rubber note that was off putting.

Deep red color. Aromas of black cherries, cedar and underbrush. Ripe, tightly compacted fruit in the mouth with good depth and ample but well-integrated tannins. Still a bit young and could improve with a few more years of bottle age.

Not exactly a food match, but there was at least one person who really prefers reds. Black cherries, a little cassis, a tad woody at the moment. Tannins soften over evening, needs time. B

Pretty bland, muted flavors, not a lot going on with this wine. Not flawed just not exciting.
