Peay Vineyards Pinot Noir Elanus Estate

This wine shows what California’s extreme West Coast can do. Color is beginning to fade ever so slightly, and the acid normally present early on in Peay’s wines has leveled out and integrated with fruit that is still very much alive. Very well made wine

Color and aroma are excellent, tartness comes through, complex, short finish. This wine seems to be aging well. I'm going to keep the last two and see what happens longer term. I've had some 10+ year old Scallop Shelf and that was worth the wait. In theory this should be even better over time.

Nose better than the Scallop Shelf from this estate. Lighter style, similar to Scallop Shelf, with some extra tartness. Its solid but for the money, not a big improvement over the Scallop Shelf at close to double the cost.
