This wine has not changed much since we got it from the winery 6 years ago; a big, rich and powerful (and wonderful) Malbec. Lush ripe blueberry, cedar, black pepper, forest floor and a smooth soft plus tannins. At 10 years, this wine is still youthful and should have no problems going another 10.

A more masculine wine, exhibiting power and boldness. Dark brambly fruit, nice earthiness, cedar and black pepper. The tannins on the dry finish were quite prevelant.

I've really wanted to love this wine since I first purchased it in 2014; although pretty good, it just lacks the power, aromatics and boldness I would associate with a top tier Malbec. In spite of decanting all three bottles over a number of hours, the aroma profile presents itself as very shy, slightly oaky and hot, and somewhat non-descript. PnP (could have used an hour+ decant). This wine is dark and brooding, very much a masculine style, but smooth drinking. Big brambly wild black raspberry fruit, black pepper, oaky and medium plus tannic finish. This easily have several more years to hit its window.

Even after a ninety minute decant the aroma profile is shy and slightly closed with hints of smokey plums, briary dark berries, spicy cherries, and light vanilla. Slightly better than the showing six months ago, but fairly tame as Malbecs go. The structure is present, but balanced, with a smooth mouthfeel and a solid finish. May just need some additional time to come together, but still has a ways to go in order to become top flight.

Based on the community scores and accolades, I was really excited about drinking the first of four bottles purchased from wine.woot.com. Decanted for approximately 90 minutes. Very dark, almost black color, full bodied. Not sure I understand the hype and high scores? Based on the scores, I was expecting to be blown away in terms of aromatics, fruit, elegance, and finish. Very good but the 2009 Pulenta Estate Malbec Gran X, I think, is far better at a similar price …

I drank one as soon as they arrived...barely let it cool off in the cellar...still rather amazing! This approaches Vina Cobos 2007 malbecs for me, and I LOVED those. Should be much better with a rest and at proper temperature.

Dominated by luscious and ripe fruit on both the nose and palate; hints of cedar, loam and ink peeking through the gorgeous cassis fruit that rides a smooth lengthy finish. While this wine is excellent now it is still drinking young and should continue to improve over the next 3-5 years.

This may be the best Malbec I've enjoyed. Had the opportunity to visit the winery in March and after tasting acquired a case. Aged 24 months in oak imparting a very smooth balance of tannins. The taste of dark fruit and touch of minerals is complex but at the same time very smooth and enjoyable. A beautiful Malbec.
