Expected so much more from this producer. Tight at PNP and still tight and astringent 3 hours in. Would say ok if there was depth and complexity to suggest it was just too early, but not so here.

Had a solid evening with friends drinking California cabs and eating prime steaks. This was the first of three bottles (the others were a 2019 Stag's Leap and a 2019 Beau Vigne Juliet), which were consumed in order from what we anticipated to be softest to boldest. We were correct in our sequence. All of the evening's participants enjoyed this one, but a few said it was softer than they prefer in a cab. I was surprised by the balance, …

Double decanted back into bottle half hour before serving with flank steak. Smell from decanter said we are in for a treat. Poured into two glasses, color dark garnet, no bricking at rim. Nose old school Napa Cab, dark fruits/berries/spice. Tasting this Cab, really reminds me of how well Silverado represents Napa Cabs. A pure pleasure to enjoy with a good meal shared with my wife who loved this wine as much as I did. Perfect age on this Cab, …

Dark garnet with a clear watery edge. The bouquet is very vibrant and quite intriging with impressions of candied fruit, vanilla, cedar, oak and subtle game. The palate is on the fuller end of medium-bodied with an interesting and dynamic interplay of the ripe fruity freshness, fine grain tannins and acidity that is very much in the process of becoming, but sadly the alcoholic component is sticking out a bit too much for it’s own good. The flavors in this …

Tasted blind against two other Napa Cabs. Expected more here for the price. Nose was faint in all with dried berry and vanilla. Very disappointing and weak on the palate. This bottle just couldn’t stand up to the others we tasted that evening.

Dark dark dark in the glass, legs like Betty Grable, dark fruit and spice to the nose. At first taste sweet cranberry and blackberries followed by baking spice vanilla and oak. 5 years in and still has pretty heavy tannins. Med plus finish. All in all decent effort but for the price there are better options.

Very good Napa cab. Allspice, cranberry and dried herbs on the nose. Very dry and smooth mouthfeel with excellent balance. Walks the line between new world and old world perfectly. Hard to beat at $30.

Slow ox for an hour and consumed over the following three. Classic Napa style with estate grown grapes from Coombsville, Yountville, Soda Creek Canyon and Stag's Leap District. Aromas of dark fruits, toasted bread, cranberry and violets. Plush on the palate with flavors of plum, blackberry, licorice, vanilla and tart cherry. Medium-full mouthfeel with a balanced, polished texture that leads to a smooth, 30 second finish. An approachable, entry level cab from a long-time producer, this wine will continue to …

Fruity with cassis, oak is a little overdone, pronounced cigar box, some stems, mild tannins, medium acid, short finish. Decent for restaurant given markup.

Big, tannic, bold. Slightly harsh. Pretty acidic mixed with bright and underripered fruit flavors such as underripe blackberries and raspberries. Really needs an aggressive decant or several more years in the bottle to drink well. 89

Nothing overly interesting or complex but very well made. Highly acid with firm tannins and hard structure. Almost an old school Napa or blind even young Bordeaux. Tart blackberry, chalky cassis, dusty vanilla, graphite, and soil. Still some decent extraction and oak that gives it away as Napa. Nonetheless nice for the price. This has at least 10 years to go.
