Popped the cork, then life intervened, so I recorked it, and into the fridge for a day. Served at 56 F. Garnet color, medium depth. Light pleasant nose of raspberry, dark chocolate, earth and dried leather. Light-medium body. Smooth tannins with a very slight velvety grip, alcohol well integrated. Lively acidity. Assertive sweet red cherry fruit on the palate, vanilla and cranberry notes. Shortish finish. Very quaffable and food friendly if a bit simple, solid QPR.

Rustic aroma of stewed red fruits, dried ham, toasted licorice and sage. Almost like a meal in itself. Palate is clean and fresh but smooth. Not the most fruity and rich Ripasso I have tasted, there is certain finesse about the mid-palate that makes you want to drink it glasses after glasses. Easy drinking. Medium-bodied with just some attack towards the end of the palate. Transitions to finish is decent with no gap. Again the finish is fresh and clean …

Light garnet in color. Light nose, beautiful minerality and soft red fresh and dried cherry. Very easy drinking with nice smooth tannins and a leathery herbal / spice finish. A great wine for 12 bucks. And very good friendly. This is a re-buy, for sure.. drink it up in the short term though, it's not an ager.
