The link to La Tache is evident. Light ans seductive. Alluring floral, sweet red berries, sour cherry, spices, tarry, bit of forest floor. On palate it has superb balance and complex flavours between fruits, minerals, spices and savoury earth and game. Lingering and sensational. Absolutely lovely!

This is a remarkably pure take on Les Gaudichots. The first wine I've ever had (or even seen) from Machard de Gramont, and I was a little nervous about what I might find because when a producer is so far off the radar, who knows if they're doing the stuff that passed for acceptable technique 20 years ago -- extracting and oaking the wine to death on the one hand or filtering it to death on the other.
