Drank from a magnum. Took a few hours to open up, and was still drinking well at day too. Nice fruit, a bit faded. Tannins are well integrated, well balanced, full bodied, medium finish.

Lots of dark fruit and meat present, with some layering in of spices as well. A lot going on in this wine and thought it better than the last time I tried a couple years ago. I think it still has 1-2 years left before heading south.

Decanted for an hour. Heavy aromatics and smooth textures. Tannins present but integrated well.

This opened up powerfully but mellowed out over time. Aromas of meat, green peppers, and dried fruit. Good length on the finish, just lacking the "wow" factor.

Not as good as when I tasted it 3 Years ago-tannic and disjointed. No harmony with other constituents of fruit and acid.

Still a baby but so good. Been open 1.5 hrs and just starting to sing. Roasted herb and mocha nose. Loads of black cherry on the palate, with raspberry, mocha latte, more herb, and clay/chalk tannins. Full body, medium finish. Can see this getting more polished/focused with time. 92 with room to improve. Would leave alone at least three more years.

Decanted for 40 mins before serving with grilled tri tip. Smooth as silk with excellent structure. Black cherry, pomegranate and licorice flavors.

Nice, strong quality Washington fruit but very ripe. Does not bother me if the wine is balanced but this was a touch off-kilter, in a way I'm not sure that aging will correct. Who knows?

Small Estate Domestic Reds (K&L Wine Merchants, San Francisco, CA) : Dark chocolate, dark berries on the nose; black cherries, anise, dark chocolate on the palate, nice, grippy tannins, good acidity; drinking pretty well now but could wait a few more years

The King-pin is a Washington Cab lovers wine, BIG Washington flavor from Klipsun, the fruit is known for power and tannic intensity and Kingpin brings right to you. I run mine through the aerator into a decanter at least 45 minutes (and try for an hour) before being ready to drink it. Waiting is the hardest part! Its a full bodied wine, the Klipsun cab fruit smells of the dark fleshy black plum, a hint of floral & spice. The …

Worth the price, very nice, needs to age at least 4-5 years before opening this one.

A deep and dense Cab, with great nose, velvet legs and nice vanilla and spice upfront. Its super smooth mouth feel with an earthy/slight tabacco flavor that stays with you just long enough to warrent another drink. The finish is very nice and the 07 fruit is said to be a very good and polished fruit for washington wines. All I can say is it was spectacular in it's balance and presentation and if I could have afforded it, I would …
