Drinking beautifully - absolutely seamless

Rich concentrated fruit. Black currants, blackberries, black cherries, chocolate, licorice and hints of herbalness and floral. Well structured wine with nice complexity, full bodied, and a medium to long finish.

Drunk mostly sans gastric accoutrements. Punch-in-the-nose overripe bouquet, bordering on scandalous. Blackest fruit, cola, balsamic, leather, pie. Wood almost fully integrated, tannins waving goodbye on horizon. A marriage on the rocks, spouses in different beds. Bit flabby & disjointed, it wants to be so much more than it is. Enjoyable in the end, but divergence splitting it at the seams. It would seem.

End of a bottle the had been open for a few hours. Lots of sediment, seems past it's prime. Black fruit, balsamic streak, tannins thinned out. Good wine but drink now.

A bit on the fruit-subdued side for B&H, no doubt the bottle age assisted in that. Not as big or bold of a juice that one expects from the label either. Perhaps the late-night pairing with cheese & cold cuts was the problem ... although this didn't seem like it would pair brilliantly with a fatty steak either.

I enjoyed this one very much, it is ready to go, don't hold. Round and full in texture, cola and cherry, baked fruit, nice oak integration.

Time to drink em if you got em. And filter - as my filter on decanter clogged 4 times with sediment. Wine was a little cloudy and a deep dark blackish red in color. fantastic nose. Black currant, dark fruits, cherry, and long finish.

Decanted for three hours. Big, ripe, tannic - will revisit tomorrow.

Popped & poured. Nice ripe fruit but not usual B&H fruit bomb; somewhat masked by still tight tannins and acid. Needs more cellar time.

- Brick color and aromas of eucalyptus. It's overly acidic and has flavours of dusty. Coarse texture - May be past it's prime Disappointing

We drank our 2nd bottle with grilled Ribeye steaks when friends came over on 7/19/10. It had a fabulous bouquet of black cherry, violets, black currant, raspberry, dark chocolate, cardamom and spice aromas. The palate was smooth and wonderfully balanced with black cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate, toast and spice. It was everyone’s WOTN.

Decanted and consumed over 2.5 hours. Either big bottle variation or an awful lot has changed in the year since my last bottle. Nose is ackward, with wood, green, alcohol and dark fruit. Medium in weight, tart black and blue fruit, clove, with a smooth finish that's dominated by charcoal. When you really focus on ignoring the odd nose, the wine tastes much better. I'd up the score to a 8991 if I had a nose plug.

Really a beautiful bottle. I thought as I removed the plastic cork that I would be disappointed, so what a surprise it was to pour it, sip it and taste loads of dark chocolate, dark red fruits interspersed with hints of oak. A nice finish, incredible deep color all said that this wine was no where near the end of its life. As I've been very critical of B&H wines sealed with the plastic cork the past few year, this …

We had this as part of a Cabernet Sauvignon tasting on 10/3/09. It had a very unusual bouquet of violet, black currant, raspberry, dark chocolate and cardamom aromas. The palate was very smooth, balanced and rich with cassis, raspberry, dark chocolate, toast and spice. Delicious!

This was a gigantic, fruit forward blockbuster of a wine in the Parker style. Tannins still there with loads of black ripe fruit. This is a wine you can chew on.

Initially I thought, "oh no!", but when the first overly alcoholic aromatics blew off, all was well with the world! Oaky, spicy, dark berry in a thick-bodied drink.

Decanted and consumed over several hours. Right out of the decanter this is extremely smooth and enjoyable. Some upfront oak was gone after 45 mins, leather, charcoal and sweet fruits-blackberries on the nose. Great mouthfeel, finest-grained tanins, near perfect balance of mature structure and fruit. Outstanding bottle.

A special wine. Spectacular nose of ripe fruit, blackberries, spice and flowers. Decanted for 1 hour and drank over 2 hours. The flavors evolved beautifully with a long, sweet finish. Nice tannin structure. Superb!! Can't wait to open the next bottles after a few more years.
