Recommend drinking this one solo, as food masked the craziness therein. Has an oddly soapy nose. The palate is saturated with stewed fruit that quickly pivots into spruce, menthol, black olive, and even some absinthe-like character. Powerfully savory, with a slightly bitter note on the finish. Great acidity. My one objection is that, despite being labeled as 13.5% ABV, this drinks heavy and feels rather hot.

A more disappointing vintage for this compared to the delicious 2013. This was much higher toned, peppery, and dark red fruited. Alas with air, the acidity really asserted itself and started to dominate after about 40 minutes open.
