A pleasant wine with funk and dark fruit but a touch of stewed plum as well.

What a difference a year makes. This wine has come together nicely, still showing a bit of soft yeast and cedar along a sweaty red fruit on the nose. The blend is very nicely done, with the varietals better together as a blend than as individual parts. A long and very smooth finish with hints of menthol. Decent wine, with hints of both yeast and cedar on nose and palate. Still has noticeable tannins, but the seem to have diminished relative to earlier reviews. Was hoping for more given the RP 90 rating.

Harsh tannins with a thin finnish. The blend is intersting, but not as successful as it should have been. Let the remaining bottles sit for a year or so to see if the tannins mellow, but suspicious that fruit just isn't there to carry.

Not my style of wine.

Nose of licorice and a little plum, although the fruit was hard to find. Strong tannic backbone, with good acid/fruit balance. Plum and dark cherry. Finish modest. Enjoyed this wine but nothing special

Extracted and full bodied but not over the top, clean fruit, pleasent but not very interesting. Not bad with some cheeses. No way would I have guessed that this is a Cabernet-Syrah cuvee. Will hold for some time but no need to wait.

Interesting Italian blend from Maremma of 40% Syrah, and 30% each Cab Sauv and Franc. Decanted with an aerating funnel for 30 mins. Magenta/ruby in color. Initial nose of plums with some smoke and dark cherry in the background. The tannins were quite rough, and the finish was a tad on the short side.
