Unremarkable but also inoffensive and perfectly drinkable

Still a bit tannic and the 15% Malbec is a too much present for a Bordeaux blend. Went well with Awarma Bl’ Beid which covered up the alcohol. Will try the next one in a few years. The fruit is there, lacks balance.

Opened 8h prior. 60% Merlot, wine from Blaye-Cotes de Bordeaux. Complex nose with rich, sweet fruit. The tannins are softening and it is already approachable. 10% Malbec in the blend adds fragrance and 'lift'. Very good wine and Blaye, once again, provides excellent value. 89-90 Tasted with Simon March (Evington's Wines) at Grand Union Wine Society.
