Meaty nose. At first, I detected intense dark fruits, but after a couple of moments in the glass, cured meats took center stage. The fruit lingers in the background, as proscuitto and salami dominate. Thick and chewy on the palate. With this dark color (deep red, appearing dark purple when a tall glass was poured) and heavy nose, this was expected. Intense throughout, with an energetic, spicy finish.
