Whoa. I bought this wine because I LOVE Vitus's 2009 cab, and I'd read that if you didn't look at the label, you'd have no idea this wasn't a cab. So true. It truly is a merlot for cab lovers. Rich and full bodied. Full on flavor--dark cherry, plum, cloves, black fruits. Yet very balanced. Smooth. Medium tannins. This merlot makes me want to try more merlots. That's two Vitus wines that have blown me away. Big fan!

Very easy to drink, but a bit bland. Kept hoping more would come out over time in the decanter, but not much. This would be good to pop and pour at a party.

Mocha and blackcurrant with a well balanced acidity. Both rich and racy. All in the party loved this wine, served with barbecued ribs.
