had the opportunity to try this while visiting Sea Island, GA. Their last bottle of this vintage. No formal note but the entire experience from aromas, flavors, feel, and finish was delightful.

Funk, prune and hint of chocolate on the nose. Hard time getting this wine to open up. Good mouthfeel and black fruit on the palate with medium finish. Not that exciting

Showing a bit more vanilla on the nose than when I last had this wine. Also, there are scents of cherry and slight pencil lead. Good structure for a new-world Merlot, which carries the dark red fruit flavors out to a pleasant finish. Certainly better than your average CA merlot.

I'm a fan of this producer, but this was a bit of a disappointment. The finish became longer and more intense with time in the decanter.

2007 Passport to Woodinville weekend; 3/31/2007-4/1/2007 (Woodinville, WA) : Dark fruit flavors with mocha and some vanilla. Not the best mouthfeel, but it did transition well to a nice length finish. This was my least favorite of the Januik wines.
