Pale gold color. Minerally nose with lemon notes. Beautifully crisp and spicy on the palate. Lemon/lime, spice, gobs of minerals, basil and thyme. Gorgeous acidity and balance. Finishes long, long, crisp and minerally with lemon zest notes. Gorgeous. Drink next 10 years. A blend of Irpinia and Falanghina.

Campania - The Hills are Alive (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Peach, a little oak spice, floral notes, almost a little candy floss, pretty nose. Juicy, pretty, a little stone fruit, oak present but more in support, touch of texture, a little encroaching bitterness adds complexity rather than detracting. Nice.

This ‘22 Via al Campo from Quintodecimo is 100% Falanghina - which marks my first time digging deeper into the varietal. Subdued by key lime crust, citrus rind, creamy, and the slightest bit of oak-influence. I scored this wine 93 points. After trying the single varietals from Quintodecimo, it’s more and more clear that the Greco is a stand out for my palate.

100% Falanghina from the Via del Campo vineyard planted in 2004 in the comune of Mirabella Eclano. Fermented and aged for 4 months in stainless steel tanks (70%) and new barriques (30%). 13,5% alcohol. Total production 22,800 bottles and 160 magnums. Tasted blind. Pale, rather neutral and youthful lime-green color. The nose feels surprisingly understated and somewhat reductive with aromas of fresh Golden Delicious apple, a little bit of smoky reduction, a hint of white peach and a sweeter touch …

Drank with dinner at Fiola Mare in Georgetown, DC. The first glass is wonderful, tight, bright and full of sea salt. A 94 at that point. That fades quicky to a pleasant white that pairs well with seafood, mooree of a 90.

Shimmering light yellow-gold color. A light, lemony, minerally aroma. Crisp and minerally on the palate, a hint of eucalyptus, saline, lemon confit. Complex and lovely. Soft melon notes on the mid-palate. Crisp acidity, beautiful balance. Long, lingering finish, minerals, iodine, lemons. Exquisite and far too young at this point. Improves with air, crisper, clearer. If you want to drink now, I'd decant this. Or better, give it 3 to 4 years to develop and drink for 10 to 12 years. …

Fantastic falanghina. White melon and citrus nose, slightly waxy mouth feel. Beautiful wine at 8 years old.

I was stunned by this wine. I did not expect the power, the complexity, the balance, the length, the vitality. Michael McNamara was glowing in his comments. It is everything he claimed for it. It is not cheap, but it is just wonderful. Now for 4-5 years.

Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. Single-vineyard Falanghina. Pale straw with a copper hue. Med (+) nose of white flowers, white peach, ripe lemon, fresh herbs, with just a touch of oak from fermentation in small French oak barrique. Dry, but with candied/confectionary fruit notes, consistent with the nose. Med (+) acidity, med (+) alcohol (13.5%). Med (+) body, with med (+) flavor intensity and length, with a slightly bitter, savory yet juicy finish. Drinking well now …

Nez qui evoque le citron confit, un brin exotique, mûr, moyennement gras.
