Lapis Luna Zinfandel Romanza Shoup Vineyard

Simply not a lot going on here. With so many other Zins on the market, value and otherwise, no compelling reason justifies this purchase. Jammy fruit leaning toward the sweet side with no mid-palate and no true length. Fruit and gone; sort of a driveby fruiting. With leftover pork BBQ. Recommended with Reservations leaning toward not recommended.

Much lighter in ruby red color than expected, this wine showed very muted black currant and bramble on the nose. The mouth feel was way too light for a zin, with hints of cherry liqueur and cherry pie. The finish was short and uneven with harsh acidity and taste. Purchased for $13US, this zin was a complete disappointment with overall notes of weedy and thin.
