I’m only sorry this is our last bottle—of this vintage, that is. Smooth, dark red fruit, silky and spicy, with a hint of earthiness and funk. Enough heft to stand up to stronger food flavors (such as the turkey soup we enjoyed).

Russk. Marido brought to CDC at WounderBar. Given to her by Micheal in burgundy. Liked it. One of my WOTN . 90+ pts. Drank blind. My notes are similar to Cabfrancaphile [great name] below.

Lovely nose of raspberry, peony and white pepper, before a fresh, vibrant attack of dark cherry, a touch of pepper, then on to a rising, raspberry flavoured middle section, and finally a crisp but persistent finale. Great stuff, this was silky and velvety, but light on its feet, and I loved the freshness the acidity brought. All that for 15 euros, que demande le peuple? It reminded me of some of my favourite Loire reds - so I'll definitely be …

Consistent quality from this producer. Could use another year or so in the bottle though.

Tasted blind, guessed Beaujolais Gamay, spot on. Leather/funk, pepper, mild tannin, moderate acidity, feels like a warmer vintage or richer style, though purely in terms of Beaujolais.

Fabulous wine. Great concentration without being flabby. Rich and able to retain freshness. Jammy cherry fruit, violets, herbs, dried organge peel and poporui fill out the profile. Sad that this is my only bottle, but drink now because gamy doesn’t taste any better!

Darker end of the bojo spectrum. Sweet black fruit. Good minerality and earth nice depth while still retaining freshness.

Consistent with prior notes but this time it is more expressive than before. Light and on the lean spectrum. This would be something to drink earlier than later

Tasty Beaujolais. Earthy, mineral rasp-cherry on the nose. Round and a bit punchy (in a non-spoofy way), with good acidity and mild tannins. Doesn't come across as a long ager, but enough depth to go several years, certainly.

Red fruited with integrated tannins with no significant complexity. The body is med- and finish is short. Simple, but tasty, immediately accessible and built for early consumption.

Beaujolais Cru Regnie from house Antoine Sunier Vintage 2017 Raspberry, strawberry and a hint of banana and oak in the aromas Light body, medium+ acidity. Weak tannins, flavors of raspberry and vanilla. Quite high perceived fruit sweetness bringing the wine out of balance lacking astringency. Short finish, lacking complexity. Overall impression a boring oversweet wine without uniqueness of personality. Avoid.

Along with Saint-Amour, Regnie produces some of the lightest wines in the region and Antoine Sunier is a master at reflecting this. He’s the Philippe Coutinho of Beaujolais, starting out in humble surroundings, then just skyrocketing with full commitment to the cream of the crop. He produces his wines au naturel, using gravity to transfer grapes into tanks, carbonic maceration, whole-cluster fermentation via wild yeasts (to bring out fresh fruit flavors while preserving delicate tannic structure) and cement aging. The …

Bright, mineral, and and herbal but light and almost quiet in its freshness. A heavenly surprise with a lobster morsel with lime and basil.

From memory, nice straight-up cru Beaujolais, a little short and simple but clean and tasty. Enjoyed with St. Louis ribs.

Weekend in Napa; 6/8/2018-6/10/2018 (Napa Valley, CA) : Aromatics are pretty, strawberry; palate is light, medium alcohol, low acidity for Beaujolais, limited red fruit; short finish. 82-84

Nose was expressive and aromatically better than the palate showing red cherries, and floral. Palate was kind of lean, light and tart, lacking fruit concentration. Didn’t improve the next day. I recalled the bottle I had a month plus ago was better.

Pretty delicious Gamay. Ripe, juicy, and fragranced. Potpourri, dried garden herbs, mild mint, cherries, raspberries, and plums.

Ho hum. Had expected more based upon a recommendation from a friend with a like minded palate. A bit thin and herbal. Not sure about these 16s based upon some limited experiences thus far.

This drank really well last night. Fresh and easy, juicy with good acids. I really liked it and will likely rebuy as well as try the other Sunier wines, both Antoine's Morgon and Julien's wines.

Grass and berried on the nose. Medium acidity, quite tanninic for a Gamay, surprisingly high concentration. Fruity, but not the delicate freshness I associate with Bojo Crus, more ripe and concentrated, and it is hard to specify which fruit. Licorice, some grass, a bit of cinnamon (according to my mum). This is too overpowering and out of balance in my opinion. But it is enjoyable enough. Perhaps it would have been better in a few years, but I am not …
