Aromas of sweet plums, meat, smoke and earth here, almost like a bbq in the glass; this profile continues on the palate, this is a fleshy, spicy wine, but with quite nice freshness nonetheless. The tannins are still quite prominent and could be better integrated especially on the midpalate / finish (the attack is quite supple). The length is solid. 16/20

Pretty superb value and a style I particularly like! A nose of smokey bacon and frazzles. Lots of dark smokey fruit. Soft tannins and lively acidity. Still got some life left.

Intense nose: Animalic, chocolate, green vegetables, roasted notes...really broad flavours. Good structure in body. Acidity and tannins well balanced at medium to high. Quite a wine, intense and nothing for the faint hearted. Really interesting wine, but in the palate a bit too much vegetable notes (might have been this vintage/bottle, will have to try again). Somewhat comparable to the chocolate block, which i find a bit more refined however.

[Tasted at Mövenpick] A very nice incarnation of juniper berry and some spice. Special feature: fennel !!! If I ever had that before I don't recall it. But green as it sounds, it is superb in there ! A stand alone criterion. Disclaimer : the rating might be affected by initial enthusiasm. If later it turns out to be only a 94, well, I'd be surprised but ok with it. 14.38 % abv.

Tasted briefly in a degustation, and it really stands out as a stunning effort! Black fruit dominated taste mixed with wood, herbs and pepper. Very complex, profound and great balance! Love it!

Caroline Wine Shop - Capaia versus Right Bank Bordeaux (Carolines Wine Shop) : The 2008 had a more lifted violet aroma with hints of iodine, dried herb like bay leaf, ground pepper and a touch of acetone. It appears youthful, with a soft fruity nose that is quite charming. It displays lovely intensity on the mid-palate, with that distinct spice of Cabernet Franc, cold tea, red and blackcurrant, and a touch of lifted mint chocolate. Well-integrated oak it isn't the …
