Indeed, demi-sec sweetness now after being quite sweet in the past. Good density, good acidity, and certainly good but simpler than expected.

Belle robe dorée. Nez timide.

Chatham. Moderately sweet still. It was received well enough but simpler than it should be. Not a good match for lobster though aged Demi-Sec is usually a great one. May well get better over a few years.

Wow, this is holding up nicely! I drank this with a bunch of cased meats, charcuterie, and was it perfect. This wine, which had darkened a teeny bit, was all about the acid, and dried apricots. I mean it was fresh, and not too sweet, generous, with a cool apricot trait. I also picked up some bees wax, spice, and a sweet straw perception.

In Wellfleet. Delicious and on the sweet side for me. Delicious with cheeses as expected. The surprise was a reasonable match with the freshly shucked oysters that followed, despite the Demi-Sec sweetness, presumably because of the freshness and minerality.

Another excellent bottle of this wine. I'm understanding now that I prefer Foreau in the warmer vintages - the wines are balanced and expressive and beautiful. This wine showed great purity and complexity on the nose, with detailed aromas of wool and honey and herbs and stone, some pear fruit too. Good acidity and balance on the palate. Very lovely wine.

Encore ?

another beautiful Foreau wine. Brilliant gold - yellow, fresh, peach-apricot, wonderful balance of sweetness with dry structure, slight pleasing bitterness on the finish. When we were traveling in the Loire, we were told that many domaines were cutting back on this style or not making it at all. That would be a shame since it is such a great match for more flavorful foods. Perfect with and Asian chicken dish. This is a wine you could keep for a long …

My favorite match with steamed lobster is a good Vouvray Demi-Sec with 10 years or so of age. This was too sweet to be an ideal match, probably both because of its youth and its ripe vintage. Nonetheless, it was a very nice bottle. Lovely Chenin nose of yellow fruits and lanolin and a bit of honey. On the palate quite sweet, richly endowed but well-balanced with excellent acidity, and with very good persistence. I think it has universal appeal …

Whoa, really really good. Perfectly round in aroma and flavor, texturally beautiful, and smacks of classic Vouvray scents of wool and wax and honey. There is overt RS here, but it works - the wine is balanced and the acidity is strong enough to carry it. It was lovely immediately, but an hour or so in it gained complexity and showed perfectly. Fresh apricots, honey, beeswax, stone. I want more.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix.

If you put your ear close enough to the glass, it sings for you. Notes of creamy pineapple custard, honey, salted caramel. + acidity, m+ body, medium sweet. Would ask to dance again, should opportunity arise...

A bit reserved on the nose but phenomenal on the palate. Starts with hints of pineapple and lychee, evolved to white peach, then moves on to lemon custard, and finishes with palate drying lemon and green apple. Medium body. Medium plus acid. Lingering finish. Off-dry to slightly sweet, but still very crisp.

A bright nose of lemon meringue and orange peel along with hints of honey and stone. On the palate medium to full bodied and very juicy with moderate weight and some oiliness to the mouthfeel. Certainly feels less acidic than the Huet demi-secs that I've had, but the structure is there and this does not come off as flabby despite the oiliness. There is a cool feel to the tangy fruit, which displays various kinds of citrusy flavors and some …
