Solid bdm. Dark and sour berries with hints of balsam,cedar, and fennel. Tannins not quite resolved. Missing the earthy Tuscan notes on the back end. Perhaps it will develop in next few years. Enjoyed nonetheless.

triple decanted over 45 mins before dinner and it was just approachable, nose continued to be muted for another hour. Sour cherry, leather notes, soft but bright acidity. deeper flavors and warmer tannins on day 2. Very decent but expected more at this price, will do a 2 hour decant on next bottle.

Decanted 3 hours. Dark, concentrated fruit. Still plenty of structure and yet this drinks well now. I think it may improve with more age but no harm in drinking now if you don't mind some tannin on the finish as the dark fruit is showing well on the nose and palate. A-

PNP and enjoyed over 90 minutes. Not bad out of the bottle and with just a bit of air this really drank well. Even as I left after 90 minutes with the bottle largely full this was drinking really well and a wine I look forward to drinking again and a relief from a mediocre showing of the first bottle from this case a few months ago. Would be drinking now but should hold. A-

First of a case bought on release. Decanted 90 minutes. This was okay, but i expected a bit more. It has a bit of roasted fruit on the nose that puts me off a bit. On the palate there is ripe fruit and not bad with food but I would not seek this out and would be drinking now to be safe. B+

Pop and pour, pretty much open for business. Ripe nose revealing an abundance of red fruit, some herbs and tea leaves, a touch earthy. Dusty red fruit on the palate, some sweet and tart elements, plenty of new oak. A slight bitterness emerged on the finish.

I was looking forward to this tasting. I’m off to Italy this fall and wanted to see which Brunello I like. I was impressed with the overall balance, however the tannis are pretty big. It took a good 3+ hours for them to mellow a bit, I recommend more decanting and waiting 5-6 hours before drinking. Having said that once there were excellent fruitiness, hints of cherries, berries and some minor earthiness. I do recommend however this is pricey.
