Lovely Pinot - light, elegant and fruit driven. Long aftertaste, prime drinking now

Clear, pale+ garnet color. Aroma of ripe cherries, autum leaves/mold. In mouth a fresh and lively acidity, light tannins. More of cherries, red fruit, and a bit dusty finish. Quite long aftertaste. Decanted for 1 hour, unsure if it will develope to the better.

This is maturing in a very good way. While the nose appeared perhaps a bit German (this brown dusty caramel), the aromas in the mouth and the texture were splendid: deep dark fruit, liveliness, excitement. Could still improve. No decanting, drunk out of Riedel vinum Burgundy glasses.

Maybe it still needs time or perhaps the oak and the 'red riesling' (a fruity, mineral and acidity driven red wine) aspect of it has not quite integrated yet, or perhaps it never will. But who cares, it is a lovely drink as it is, crisp and precise. Will probably keep quite some time.

Should perhaps have been allowed to breathe more. It barely seems to have moved since the last bottle. Mineral and juicy, great precision. Fine stuff.

improved compared to the last bottle from two years ago, starts to get into the drinking window, but will benefit from more time in the bottle; we thought the style is more burgundian than German

German nose, or perhaps Oregonian... sagebrush, lake mud, sour red berries and spice. A tad buttery and sweetish on the palate, most likely the oak vanilla, with good linear acidity. This "basic" S cuvée should've been even better with less obvious cask treatment. Anyway, a nice companion to oriental-style chicken and bulgur.

Middels dyp burgunder farge, lett transparent i glasset. Lagret i jojo temperatur?

Exactly one year in the cellar has done a lot of good for this wine. The youthful lactic notes are gone, and so is the sense of overlaying oak spice. The nose has lovely depth and first signs of development with abundant forest undergrowth. Tastewise the acidity shines like a bright light, and the very "pinotic" fruit is generous enough at this basic level. Can't wait to taste Keller's 2010 Bürgel again soon.

Another great bottle. It took sometime to come around (decanted 3/4 of an hour and then needing some time in the glass), and this time its sweet and savoury taste balanced by a fine acidity excelled.

Sunday Night Wines II : Served blind. Spicy, actually some forest floor/gamey notes; fresh, albeit slightly warmish fruit, structured. I was definitely in Burgundy.

Perhaps not quite the magic of the first time, but certainly a lovely and dangerously drinkable wine. Crisp, precise, complex aromatics.

Fresh acidity, great fruit, nice minerality and nice balance. Suprised by the quality of this wine!

Not quite so convincing as the first time, probably due to higher temperature which seems to enhance the oak and diminish the clarity and focus. Still, a lovely glass of pinot.

Wow. Taken from the 10 degree celsius cellar and decanted for, say, twenty minutes. Initially a bit too cold and a bit muted. But then, what aromatic fireworks! Rhubarb and salt strawberries, earth and spices, a touch of meat and something undefinably and nicely warm; and happily entirely lacking in that caramel tone which many German Spätburgunders have. Great clarity and focus. Firm and neither sweet nor with lots of body but so cool and juicy and pure; high acidity. …

Great P/Q ratio. Fresh acidity, sufficient fruit, nice minerality and good balance. Lacks the depth of burgundy, but a very nice wine that will please most people.

Too young, not yet intergrated, but promising.
