(this is a village wine). Red fruit, a touch of spice, some tannin, but a little tired ashtray note. OK though disappointing for a 2005. B-

This opened up only slightly over several hours. First taste was after ~2 hours of slow-ox. Reserved on the nose and dominated by acidity and tannin on the palate, this had me worried there was low-level cork taint. After a few more hours open, however, the fruit emerged enough to buffer the structure some and the wine verged on pleasurable. But overall, it was closed and unappealing. I *think* there is the material there for this to become better with …

WIML90 Tasted non blind. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, floral notes and minerals. Flavors of berries, raspberries and cherries. Medium to tangy acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

A bit thin, and sour, doubt the grapes had a chance to ripen sufficiently. Opened up after a while but still had to work harder than I'd like to detect the flavors. Pretty good for a Burgundy at this price, comparatively.

No notes taken at social gathering. Enjoyable floral nose.

Starts out a little cool-aid sweet raspberry, cherry fruit.....some tart cherry skin acid, earth spice, smoked cedar plank. Smooth, some nice floral spice kick, doesn't really remind me of a good Burg.....except for the dry earth tones. Not what I thought this would be like. Disappointed.

pure raspberries and red currant - light body and it went very well with a piece of salmon filet poached in orange juice and pinot gris, with a morel risotto and a salsa verde based on parsley, olive oil and blanched garlic and ginger. I guess it is the same view as last time, although I for some reason could not find as much subtle elegance this time around.

a nose of redcurrant berries with some forest floor as background accords, very tannic but perfectly balanced with good acidity and much to offer with a classic pinot nose, even if it is not the most smokey mushroomy type; very elegant and the mid palate has some subtle nuances that may well develop further over time.

Nice if slightly muted nose, opens up to a pleasant melange of red plums and berries, with a little chocolate and smoke. Palate is a little austere on night one, nice cherry fruit and clean acids but a bit dominated by the tannins. No wood evident. Nice if restrained. On night 2 it has opened its robes and shows what's underneath, a lovely midweight Volnay with earth, black cherry, smoke, and plums vying for dominance. Bright acids, tannins have integrated, …
