Domaine Collotte, Marsannay, Les Grasses Tetes

Toasty, meaty, woodsy.... aromas of toasted spice, cured meat, pine forest, blackberry, elderberry, black cherry, a little smoke and petrichor. Like the nose, the palate is quite savory and earthy, but a gush of juicy and jellied black fruit comes through in the middle and lingers on the finish, a subtle infusion of oak spice is supportive and very well integrated. Should evolve positively for a few more years. May hold for for a decade beyond that... hard to tell, …

Vinosphere (Town Hall, Sydney) : a little green, though not what I'd call stalky, over black fruit. Juicy acid, savoury, tightly, talc textured tannins. Hmm.
