Familia Miguel Alvear. Fetching sweet fresh reduction. Meaty plum pits to smell. The taste is permeated with adorable, dry, ripe skin tannins. Chew it for a burst of acid. Deeper in, I find walnuts, one reductive “circus peanut,” rhubarb, mashed black table grapes, and a crank from the pepper grinder. More blue than red flavor. 24 HOURS later: Have you ever encountered the reductive side of Syrah/Shiraz? It aligns directionally with black rubber and licorice. Here it combines with feral …
