This wine has a nose of cut grass and slightly floral. Tastes of pear, golden delicious and apricot lead to a short finish of apricot and citrus.

wonderfully fragrant nose. Mild acidity, lots of pear and melon on the plate, short but nice finish. Lovely wine for summer, a bit short of the 2009 South African benchmark.

Not as crisp and distinctive as some of the other Chenin Blanc's from South Africa, but not bad at all. There have been some comments that this wine may be slightly sweet, and I concur. The fact that it is slightly lower in acid and slightly heavier in viscosity in the mouth than others, relates to riper fruit that may not have been fermented all the way dry. The 13.5% alcohol may be a little low for grapes this ripe. …
