Decanted. More 1.5h after decant. Haven't color. Shy aromas. Palate with juicy, bright cherries, raspberries, strawberries, some bitter herbs, nice minerals. Not the most complex but juicy, delicious and fun.

Supper with Frank (Noi Restaurant, Petersham) : Slightly baked cherry that, with time, morphs into a more strawberry note, touch of dusty glass, savoury spice, very slight alcohol prickle, semi-dried cranberry. Juicy, fleshy, mouth watering, quite bitter and tightly structured, red hued fruit has a touch of astringency, with food palate lengthens and fruit and flavours are more to the fore

Light bodied, food friendly wine for early drinking somewhat reminiscent of a Barbera. Roughly 3.3 hectares of vines were planted to Pelaverga Piccolo clones CVT C1, CVT 212 and CVT 223 beginning in the 1971 and proceeding through 2021. The vines are located in the crus of Riva Rocca (facing south and east at 270-320 meters in altitude); Campasso (facing eastwards, planted at 250-350 meters of altitude); Boscatto (facing eastwards also at 250-350 meters above sea level); Neirane (with a …

red and blue fruit, flowers and peppery herbs... juicy and straightforward, lovely purity and freshness, white pepper and flowers accent the inner perfume and finish, a little orange oil pops up too, fine tannins grip nicely as bright fruits linger, drink in the next couple of years

I'm addicted to this wine. Bright acid, juicy fruit (strawberries and raspberries), some herbaceous lift, white pepper, subtle tingly structure, and light sandy tannins. It's got the juiciness of a Beajolais nouveau with the structure and complexity of an Etna rosso. Awesome

Appena aperto acido, scomposto, duro, respingente. 1 ora d'aria e tutto cambia. Delicato, con sentori di fragola e beverino. Non impegnativo.

Just a solid wine that brings a great note of mushroom, white pepper and tart cherry to the mix. Great with food or by itself on an easy night. Can’t have enough of these on hand for any occasion.

Tasting with Vittore In steel awaiting bottling soon A little reductive, but with lovely red fruit, Chinese peppercorn, and some cool herbal savory spice notes. Light to mid weighted at most with crunchy fresh fruit on the palate. More Good sense f freshness and minerality. Finishes clean yet long and more-ish. Very good.

Italy has so many autochthone grape varieties to offer. This red wine is produced in the municipality of Verduno (Piedmont), from the rare native grape variety Pelaverga Piccolo. The plot is only 3ha in size and the soil consists of limestone and silty. In the glas the wine shows a pale ruby red. The delicate bouquet offers red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, pepper and rose petals. It reminds me of Nebbiolo but it has a distinct spiciness which you usually don‘t …

100% Pelaverga piccolo, bought this unique Verduno wine at the property of Fratelli Allesandria in 2020. Light translucent garnet color, aromas of strawberries, raspberries. On the palate, more red fruits and peppery note, high in acidity, good balanced tannins. Drink a bit chilled.

The wine is translucent, almost as light as a rose. The aroma is moderately intense. The first impression is ripe strawberry, followed by distinctive black pepper and dusty attic. On the palate I also perceive strawberry and black pepper, there is an underlying tartness that is pleasantly reminiscent of orange bitters. The acidity is pretty high, the tannins are fine with very little grip.

Classic! Bright and spicy. Aromas of tart blueberry, red cherry, strawberry, orange oil, white pepper, roses, mint... tons of peppery nuance here, it is fun to negotiate the other aromas around the pepper, because it is so encompassing. Fresh and light, with nice red berry, minerals and spice on the palate. Peppery and cooling herbal finish. Drink over the new few years. Cacio e pepe pairing?

Supper at Franks (Frank's place in Matraville) : Aromas of sour red cherry, strawberry and raspberry, there is a otuch of funky wild ferment, a little jubey note here as well. Light, fresh, juicy but savoury, red fruits are fresh, a little non-intrusive warmth on the finish. Nice.

I have never heard of this producer or this varietal, but this was outstanding. On the nose it had a distinct floral and spicy character (almost reminded me of a mencia from Spain). The haunting nose, and a pale color were almost at odds with each other. The palate was light - medium bodied, with a firm and floral taste profile. Judging this by the color in the glass is a mistake - it has distinction and depth far beyond …

Like the perfect wine for me. Very very transparent, light pale brick red with brown hues. Beautiful and highly unusual in the glass. You would think it was an overaged wine if you did not not better. Red berries, sour feet, some yogurty-cheesy undertones, forest floor, really good complexity, imagine an extremely light top-barolo/piedmont-nebiolo - there are terroir-recognisable features. Smoothest tannin imaginable and a slight but well-balanced sweetness. If I could have this everyday I would age beautifully Im sure... …

Bright, pale clear ruby, looks like a kriek lambic minus the head. Nose of...resin? You know the kind. Palate follows the nose, plus some cherry/strawberry and leaf. It's...interesting, and really good, actually. Easy and very complex and unique.
