The summer of 2020-Le Lavandou: At the Manoir le Roure, Chteauneuf-du-Rhne, a nice balance, friendly. pure, but the wine didn't impress me.

Deep ruby red colour. Pronounced nose with blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, black plum, eucalyptus, white pepper and meat. Pronounced taste of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, black plum, white pepper, licorice, mushroom and meat. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Crozes-Hermitage from a warm vintage. Goes well with beef, game or lamb.

Held up well - black fruits, with a light tannic underpinning

Much more northern rhonish and less new worldish than when I bought this 5 years ago. Blackberry and black cherry fruit with som meaty, mineral notes. Still plenty of tannin. Tasting quite mature now but I think it still has a good bit of life ahead of it. Probably won't get any better but shouldn't go over the hill any time soon.

A glorious wine, with an earthy and animalistic savage wrapped around the berry fruits.

Good fruit, but very hot. Taste new world-ish. Allthough it's pure syrah, it have some merlot taste. Clean and it goes easy down the drain. To sweet and I miss secondary aromas. Would like to taste from another vintage.

Excellent value. Smooth mouthfeel. Decent fruit. Some slight pepper. Decent out of the bottle but even better after an hour.

Grilled meats, dried raspberries, asparagus, dried cranberries on the nose. Firm acid and tannin. Missing fruit stuffing, which makes me yearn for more on the palate. This leaves opportunity for food to fill the holes 87A,87P,87F

This has a really nice balance of fruit, tannins, spice, and terroir and is distinctly French and distinctly syrah. A couple of tasting notes refer to jammy flavors but I don’t get that at all. This is even better than the bottle I had about a year ago and I think it is drinking really well now. If you like French syrah, you should like this.

Wow...I had the 02 a year or so ago and...wow...incredible these are the same wines, separated by a year. This was nice, had a certain complexity, but incredibly ripe - blind I would have guessed Aussie Shiraz. Pretty international. At least it wasn't oaked. Crowd pleaser though.

A little heavy, damp and jammy for me. Tried it two nights in a row. Thought it was just pretty good but not near it's high rating.

Deep dark purple. Nose is heavy with mineral, spice and plum. Very primary flavors and intense with plum, blackberry, pepper & iron. Good acidity and gripping tannins on a medium length finish. Lots of life, give it a couple of years.

Ah, Syrah. Great value, really nicely put together. Deb says, "I was beginning to think Rhone wines just weren't my thing, but this is really good!"

If you like Syrah, and you want to taste a true old world, French Hermitage, this wine truly exhibits terroir that the French work so hard to bring out in their wines. I had this wine at a tasting and bought three bottles. I will add more to the notes, as I taste it again.

Night 1: Jammy blackberry and oak. More akin to Australia. Fine flavors, lacking in intensity. Some tannin, fine-grained. Into the fridge. Night 2: Jamminess blew off, more restrained. Tasty.
