What crazy thing is this? The level of complexity here is what you would expect from a great Burgundy Chardonnay but not from some crazy Slovenian white. Tropical fruit, some orchard fruit, flowery, herbal and tea notes, minerality, all very-well delineated. It has a bit of a natural wine vibe which is usually not my cup of tea but this was a pleasure to drink.

Tasted at a social event, brief notes only. Dark and hazy gold color. Fruit of pineapple, plenty of orange zest, chamomile tea and smoke. This is bridges seamlessly to a similarly smoky palate which adds elements of cider. Structured with a citric freshness into the finish.

Another one of the „Mia“ special selection. Fantastic again, while a little more mature than my last bottle, not surprisingly. A super complex, geeky wine of the highest level. It showed a little less expressive than my last bottle, so it‘s probably time to drink up. Love this.

Another very nice bottle of this resembling the one from 2018 but a little more advanced. Fascinating and layered wine.

This is another bottle of the special selection „Mia“. Extremely fascinating mineral notes of freshly ground stones, some white peach and subtle apricot notes, savory herbs, chamomile, white flowers, linden blossom, Also a touch of honey and dusty road. Super deep and fascinating aromatics. It's medium+ bodied but super dense, has excellent mid-palate density and very high viscosity. There is medium acidity that is perfectly ripe and harmonious and adds to the overall balance. There is also a touch of …

Interesting Vitovska build in a more natural, unfiltered way. The aromas tend to go more into a phenolic, green apple way with lots of salinity. A wine which you will love or hate, I quite enjoyed it.

Another beautiful showing of this special wine. Deep golden color, almost a touch of orange. When I put my nose into the glass, the aromatics suck me right in... notes of white blossoms, chamomile, also some lime blossom, crushed stones, honey, some spices. It‘s medium+ bodied, slightly creamy in texture, with just a touch of tannin adding structure, medium- acidity and very good length. A meditative wine and very unique. Love this.

Show us some skin (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : honey, bees wax, a little lanolin and slightly meaty notes over oxidised apple and pear. Off sharp acidity married to impressively huge and astringent tannic grip and bruised orchard fruit. Long. Interesting. I kind of love the preposterous tannins.

Served blind as an odd ball. Cloudy color, medium yellow. The grape variety is Vitovka (a cross between Malvasia Bianca Lunga and Prosecco Tondo) from Friuli-Venezia/Italy but also popular in Slovenia. Excellent wine. Very floral, mieralic nose, complex. The palate is creamy yet fresh and with good tension. Really well done. Hard to compare to things I had before. Nose like a Roussanne, palate like a Puligny. Very good, natural wine style.

My first time tasting the new vintage of what has quickly become one of the most fascinating white wines I know. Medium golden color, super high viscosity. First a touch reduced, but opens up in the big glass with some air. Beautifully flowery notes of chamomile, lime blossom, also some honey, apricot, crushed stone minerality. It‘s medium-full bodied but feels weightless at the same time, has medium acidity and a touch of tannin. Very good length with plenty of freshness, …

This is the special selection from a few dozens old vines called "Mia". Tiny production. Medium golden color. Needs about 20 minutes in the glass to open up... Super fascinating notes of freshly crushed stones, apricot, some white peach, some savory herbs, chamomile, white flowers, linden blossom, also a touch of orange zest, a touch of petrol, dusty road, overall more minerality than upfront fruit, super deep and fascinating aromatics. With some more air, also some honey notes. It's medium+ …

Very similar tasting note to my last one. My second and unfortunately last botte. Fascinating aromatics and beautiful texture and structure. Very unique in its expression.

Showed to me in a really nice wine store and wow, what a beautiful and geeky wine! Medium golden color. Slightly reductive. Flowery nose of lime blossom, chamomile, but also some stony minerality. On the palate it's also mostly blossoms, some yellow fruit, some honey, lots of minerality and some spices too. It's medium+ bodied, has an almost creamy texture but nice medium acidity adding some freshness too. Long and pretty complex finish with a touch of bitterness. While I'm …
