A day in Noizé (Noizé restaurant, London) : Mid ruby. Quite dense in the decanter but lightening and thinning at the edges now. A half Grenache and approximately quarter each mourvèdre and syrah blend, this feels quite grenachey on the palate with some glycerine and a sense of aging on its acidity with and soft tannins now fully resolved. 55% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah per the Brusset website. Perfectly balanced, long, un-showy, utterly delicious. A great reminder of this classic style of wine making. No rush but a point drinking perfectly now.

Decanted for about 2 hours. Still really young and needed a lot of time. Nose is a fantasitc. Not a blockbuster but a really refined nose of plums and limestone. Great acid and a super finish.

Dark red. Soft dark fruit nose, plums and cherries. Soft dark fruit flavours. Resolved soft finish. Maybe better a couple of years ago. I think most of the mid to high level wines from the south of this vintage need to be drank fairly soon.

Man, this wine rocked. A great reason that you don't have to spend a ton of money for an outstanding bottle of wine. Buy one that can age, and then have some patience. Ruby/purple in color. nice solid wine, drinking now, hints of pine garigue violets on the nose, stong cherry cough syrup and liquid granite palete, very solid, integrated and long. this is beautiful solid s rhone, more buxom than straight n rhone syrah, but not as round as the generic s cote rhone worth cellaring, but very straight, no horse or brett

Dark ruby color. Some barnyard on nose. Light bodied but good mouthfeel with flavors coating the mouth and yet light tannins. Very nice.

$23.39 retail, after discount. I had not tried this since release, when I was quite impressed with it. Deep, dark fruit with some secondary notes on the nose. Fairly lush fruit on the palate with solid acid / tannin structure. Light prune and tobacco. Still young... Quite impressive.

I can't help but to compare the two vintages of this wine just as an understanding for the different complexities of the two vintages. This was the lesser wine in that comparison. It was not unenjoyable, as it was pleasant and filled the palate with nice plummy fruit, although structurally this was was not as fine grained with tannic structure as it's '98 predecessor.
