This was delicious. Spicy, soft red and darker fruit. Not a lot of depth or heavy concentration in one flavor, but there were many flavors, red cherries being the majority.

More confirmation of this wine's running for QPR or the year. Soft cherry, leather, and a secondary green note greet you on the nose. Cherry and red fruit flavors with some nice dustiness/earthiness along with moderate acidity and great length on the finish. I should have bought more!

Another wonderful bottle. Fruity yet smoky/sooty nose; a touch more complex flavors than I remember previously: ripe cherry, mixed berry, floral/violets, and leather. This really is a fabulous bottle of wine. How I wish I bought cases of this.

A bit more acidic and austere compared to previous bottles. I think we just didn't give it time to come around. Still great QPR.

Robust cherry/berry flavor profile along with some nice leathery aromatics, very satisfying. As before: Super-duper QPR, massive amount of sediment on the cork and in the neck of the bottle.

Excellent bargain. I am only sad because it took me too long to give it a try and K&L is now out! Cherries, licorice and spice and in an smooth well structured medium body. A steal at $10.

Wow, what a find this was. The nose is very potent blackberry and licorice. Midpalate is glycerin like and extremely polished. Finish is surprisingly long and persistent again with blackberry and licorice and a slightly sweet lingering finish. My only regret is not buying more bottles. This was an amazing QPR buy. -- Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!

Similar to note on 12/07/11. Perhaps a bit less ripe fruit along with some licorice flavors as well. If you picked this up at K&L, good move.

I agree with the previous comment. Great bottle; full bodied, complex wine. Very dark, with notes of licorice and black fruit. Tons of sediment on the bottom of the cork. Had to decant (duh), losing about 1/10th of the bottle (no biggie). For $10, insane QPR.

Now that I've ordered more from K&L, I'll add a tasting note. As like last year ('06 Havens Merlot), it looks K&L will provide this year's best QPR. Deep crimson/purple color. Substantial sediment attached to the cork (inverted bottle storage?). Bright cherry fruit on the nose. Sweet 'n spicy cherry/berry flavors and saddle leather flavors dominate. Nice lifting acidity and a respectable finish. A super deal at $10USD! Though I'm afraid its one of those company death throe purchases. Shame …
