This new release from Sausal Winery, known for their Zinfandel, exhibited everything I look for in a Petite Sirah and more. The rich, deep fruit of blueberries and blackberries combine harmoniously with chocolate on the nose and palate. Earthy/alcohol nuances are just present enough. There is a light, lingering acidity on the palate along with subtle tannins.
