Azienda Agricola Durin Vermentino Riviera Ligure di Ponente Lunghéra

During a blind tasting dinner of some off the beaten track stuff. No one guessed this one right. As unusual it was, the aromas and palate were close to many dry whites with white fruit, some flowers and minerals. Medium+ body. I liked the complexity especially for the price point.

Retailer tasting : A special wine made of the Pigato grape. The bouquet is reticent, there is a huge amount of green apple and really much bitterness in the finish. With a price above $40 it should be special, but with hardly any bouquet, one dimensional green apples and so much bitterness I don't appreciate this wine. Probably tells more about me than about the wine. Could it be that this wine needs some ageing? I can't tell. 81-86+?
