Pretty decent wine at a solid price point. Not too intense and nothing stands out as incorrect

This came #1 in my re-sort of the WS 100 kist by VALUE, which I define as $$ per WS point. At $0.13 this easily swept the board, compared to the Antinori Toscana Tignanello at $1.86 I find it a well balanced wine with excellent fruit. Bot much evident cab character but a wonderful wine for everyday drinking. My 92 is 90 for the wine and 2 more for extraordinary value.

{screwcap} Straight cabernet. Tasted a few bottles of this, but always in the air during October between Sydney and Dubai on Emirates. So, a bit raw and basic, with heavily macerated ripe and seemingly dilute fruit. Little tannin, a fizz of acid, and some basic red flavours, enlivened with some kind of chemical-like soft drink compound or something. Not too sweet though, but quite short on the finish, and without any real interest. Dry, at least.

Good Italian plonk for $10. Good fruit forward black fruit, with a hint of earthy spice and surprising bit of tannins on the finish. Good weeknight no fuss PnP dinner wine.

Puckery black cherry and black pepper followed by tar over soft tannins and long finish. Second day this is much improved. Off-putting puckery edge was significantly softened as was black-pepper spice though cherry tones darker to include blackberry. This needs at least a 1-hour decant. Still not super great for me.

Upon opening this wine, it seemed like it would be a fuller bodied wine with the slow legs and deep garnet to purple color, however after tasting it, it is more medium bodied. It has aromas of dark berries like blueberry with a hint of black cherry. There is a full fruit cherry taste with tighter, burnt tannins and a medium acidic satin texture. In my opinion, the wine would be more refreshing on a warmer evening. Not a winter …

In the glass, a deep purple hue. Rich oak features on both the first taste as well as on the aftertaste. There’s some dark fruit on the middle taste, with mostly plum featuring. Pretty simple and straightforward. Not overly complex, but the oaky notes are enjoyable, especially on the aftertaste

It was going down memory lane to drink Santa Cristina. This was one of the first wines I ever bought and glommed on to. It's a good value as a table wine and made well for that purpose. Tastes basic and fruit-forward, but not headache-inducing. Good with pizza, burgers, or just to drink for a low cost. It's Antinori. And frankly, it's hard to find; must sell well.

Not a fan of the day 1 fizzy texture to it that was quite sharp. Better on day 2 and best on day three with fruits and florals becoming more pronounced as well as tanninic structure filling out. Still missing something that would add to quality.

This again does what it says on the tin. Has aromas of boot polish, raspberries, peppery hints, tar, iron, leather and cherries. Its juicy medium bodied solid nicely built, tart and refreshing red and blue fruits palate ends mediumish and crunchy. Needs 30 mins aeration. Great value at 8 Euros. 13%. A bit rustic yet characterful.

This medium-to-deep ruby wine is a blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of steeped cherries, pipe tobacco, violets and loamy earth are followed by similar flavors on a medium-bodied, fresh palate. The polished tannins are light in weight, the oak minimal and the alcohol (listed as 12.5%) equally unobtrusive. With good mid-palate density and a medium-length finish, this wine is eminently enjoyable and represents excellent value. Drink now-2021.

Great Italian table wine. Not over oaked, balanced fruit not jammy but lack of complexity expected from this level of wine. However, those who drink California wine would love this Italian change of pace. Very food friendly. Crowd pleaser!

Red and dark berries on the nose, spices; quite rich and sweet on the nose. More savoury on the palate, fresh and bright, good fruit, spicy. Not very complex and a bit drying and lean towards the medium finish, but well made and very solid for the price. 86-88

Dark ruby at the core, lightening out to translucence on the rim. Red-fruited on the nose, with a note of alcoholic "headiness". Nicely balanced, with ripe red & black fruit and nice persistence on the finish. This is an IGT blend with 60% Sangiovese, and the other 40% consisting of Cabernet, Merlot & Syrah.

Semi-opaque in color with significant lightening around the edge. Has a surprisingly powerful nose, offering attractive aromas of dark fruit, flowers, vanilla and earth. Medium-bodied and very fruity. Lots of plum and black cherry flavor - along with faint notes of oak and spice - but not a lot of depth or concentration. Finishes a bit sweet and rather simple, though with good length. Overall, quite enjoyable and a nice everyday drinker at just under $7. 50+5+12+13+6=86

Widely available and a great value. My daughter was asking for wine suggestions from her local market. This was one suggestion for BBQ that was in her budget and substantial enough in body. A blend that shows the easy side of Sangiovese and the substance of a Bourdeaux, great acid and easy tannin. Nice linger great fruit.

this IS a pairing wine. Strongly recommend with pasta as it is a Rosso from Italy. Had this in a great Italian restaurant in Aruba (Hostaria da' Vittorio) with a very good wine list. the manager recommended this automatically. We were not sorry! Right away the taste is light, slightly dry but a smooth finish. If you stop here then the wine has been wasted. Alternate great Italian pasta with a sip of this wine. At first there is slight …

Lovely chianti; balanced, fruity, and long on the palate. Some tight acid holding it together, but with the alcohol to match. Fruit is plummy and jammy but with some nice tobacco overtones. Drink any time from now to 2018.
