Argyros Mavrotragano

Tasted in a restaurant on Crete. Initially some nail polish notes, but dissipated with some aeration. Red berry fruit with mineral notes of iron, smoke and meaty flavors (dried meat). Juicy red-fruited palate with soft tannin. This showed nice and works perfectly in a hot environment.

Enjoyed at a wine bar in Athens called Vinif3era. Fun with enough complexity to savor and appreciate. (Served properly slightly chilled. This is a very good wine. Its dry, with high acidity, high chalky tannins, medium + body, and high alcohol. This is a 2019 vintage. It has good balance between the medium+ intensity of the flavors and aromas with the high acidity . It has good complexity flavors and aromas of linden blossom, red fruits (cranberry, raspberry, red cherry) herbaceous notes like black current leaves, some interesting tertiary aromas like tree moss, meat or game and mushroom or wet leaves. …
