This wine is dead. Lots of vanilla, but now it’s sweet, flabby and without structure. The tannins have vanished. The wine has died.

This bottle presented a bit lighter than my last note. The dark fruit (plums & blackberries) and herbaceous qualities remained, but the darker coffee notes were subdued and the tannins were milder. Still a great daily drinker.

This bottle was better than previous I have had. It was a sound and balanced Merlot; mostly a fruity wine with a touch of oak and tannin. I think it took a bit of time in the cellar to come together. IT is an adequate daily drinker

Tasted blind. Aromas of sweet blueberry and vanilla (American oak?) with a broad array of spices and green notes. Juicy, lively, easy-going. Quite tart on the finish. I barely perceive tannins, but that’s okay. This is a pleasant wine built for everyday drinking. I like the interplay of the dark and red fruit. Rating: 87 Guess the wine. I’m going to say a modern-styled Rioja. Barbera is another possibility.

This is a well balanced, medium bodied red that is very typical of the South American style. The nose exhibits blackberries and espresso with hints of bell pepper. The wine has a smooth, slightly drying mouthfeel with flavors of dark fruits and milk chocolate. The wine smooths out nicely with exposure to air. The slight bell pepper aromas dissipate and the espresso notes come to the forefront.

Definitely better than the prior bottle, which may have been flawed after all, but still not a masterpiece. Lots of round fruit on the nose and palate; a pleasant dusty note as well, along with violet and other flowers. Acidity and tannin are both quite low.

I have to agree with the prior review - unbalanced and messy. In fact, I thought the bottle was flawed / slightly corked, but it may just be an unpleasant note of wet leaves. I went as high as an 80 because there is a moment of crowd pleasing vanilla and berry jam on the nose, and a hint on the palate as well, before it moves into the wet leaf thing. Lacking acidity and tannin.

Tasted blind. Medium ruby with some purple hues. The nose is clean, medium in intensity with mint, bell pepper juxtaposed over cooked or candied black and red fruit and vanilla.
