The age of this Valpolicella gives it a pleasingly Amarone element of raisin to go with the jammy black plum and mushroom funk. Palate is rather tart - cherry, cassis and tarry tannins. Medium to long finish of balsamic, tobacco leaf and clove. Nice complexity from a wine for this price, although it's on the decline so drink it if you've got it.
