First of 3 bottles. Sadly, this wine is far along on the declining side and no longer enjoyable. I appreciate older wines with evolved character, but this is already on the soy "track" and cloudy as tannin structure has broken down.

It's aways a big gamble when you buy and open a really old wine from less than a first rate producer, from a secondary region and from a year most people don't know anything about in that region. It is always a good policy to expect a disappointment when you pop the cork. But like every big gamble, when the bet comes through the rewards are tantalizing.
