Given the few reviews I could find, expected the wine to be gone, but was pleasantly surprised. Mushroom and earthy aroma, but not faulted. A little fruit hiding there. Palate with lovely silky texture and length, tossing around a little fruit, earthy notes and generally pretty interesting. Falling off the second night but it was enjoyable the first with some beef Bourgignon.

Lovely wine. Deep ripe and juicy with decent complexity for a sub $20 wine. Nice tarry notes on the nose, smoke meat and blackberry. Medium bodied on the palate but juicy and fresh with a long tasty finish. Great value.

Another lovely showing for this wine. Deep, ripe, sweet, lovely ripe texture. Balanced, with nice complexity, this way exceeds its price point and was better than expected.

Killer bottle of wine for price paid. Didn't remember price until I saw tonight in CT so that didn't influence rating. Dark red color. On nose, baking spice, black raspberry, blackberry, tobacco and fig notes (palate similar). Didn't have any notes on structure but this paired well with smoked chicken. 92+/-

Shared amongst good friends - cedar box, spice, black fruit, tannins are silky and add nice structure.

Drank over 2 nights - better on night 1. Medium red color. Garrigue, black raspberry, pepper, sweet cherry on nose. Palate similar to nose. medium body, medium acidity, low tannins and medium+ finish. Excellent QPR from Garagiste. 91-92 range.

last of 4 bottles and great QPR @ $15/btl. Starts off sweet then after 30 min of air it comes together nicely. Blue fruits with big presence of Blackberries. Great nose.

Good, gulpable Grenache. Medium bodied and slightly herbal — chill it a bit and enjoy with warm weather and BBQ. Love the weight, balance and acidity. Orange peel? Not a lot of complexity but for $14, who cares. Should drink well for at least five more years age. (87)

This strikes me as young and tight at this stage. Rich, concentrated raspberry and currant fruit is there in droves, as are lovely notes of violet and black pepper. A whiff of dust and garrigue is peeking through in the nose. Very good now, but better in 2-4 years.

Putting a note in after realizing during inventory that I did not make notes on any of the three bottles. This was a Garagiste wine, and was the lowest priced of the GSM wines (S. Rhone, WA state, some rando S. France place) I bought during my first pandemic stock-up. It was also easily the best, beating the CdP by a mile. Not surprising for me, since Gigondas has hit the spot for me over CdP for a while, but …

PNP first bottle with friends after tennis. Not sure I needed 6 bottles of 2018 Gigondas but this is a very nice Gigondas with good fruit but not over the top. Good sweet Grenache with raspberries and kirsch. Very nice

This is a nice Gigondas for me; not too overbearing, while still being quite robust. Had with a steak and it was perfect. The aromas are rich, showing cherry compote, apple spices, and garrigue. Palate is smooth and soft, quite caressing on the palate, actually, showing richer, more vibrant, darkly complected fruits, some tar, and light bits of spiciness. Moderate acidity balances the thick, rich flavors. Finish again attacks with rich dark fruits, but smooth and soft (not stewed), with …

This wine is getting very consistent reviews because, yes, it’s really that good. Could be a 91, but point is it’s drinking well right now. Fresh plum and red berry with medium firm strength on the palate and medium length finish. It does have that old world earthy note I particularly like, but shrouded also in a freshness to the fruit that offsets tight tannins. Giving it a little air pays dividends. Great QPR.

still quite tight and young, will benefit from many more years on its side or several hours in the decanter if drinking now. fainter dark fruits, potting soil, tree bark, softer finish/oak. enjoyable now, but will not fully evolved yet. great QPR for $14.

Pnp. Slight medium garnet in colour. Notes of dried red berries, plums, and garrigue on the nose. On the palate, there are peppery black cherry cola and dark plums along with some graphite and a touch of anise; tannins are very evident. Medium bodied with a medium finish. Excellent qpr.

Opened one last night and was very impressed. Very well balanced with nice character and just enough pepper, and garrigue. Medium bodied with red cherry and blackberry fruit. For $15, very good indeed. Rounded out even more overnight.

Compared to $8 Louis Bernard Côtes du Rhône or La Vieille Ferme (Perrin & Fils) Côtes du Ventoux, this is lamentable vin rouge: muddled, indiscriminate fruit on the nose, with stems to boot; a galumphing landing on the palate whose only redeeming quality is a hint of curry, and then a weird, hot exit with notes of asphalt (similar to what another reviewer described). Never again.

Gigondas, Featuring Les Pallieres '05-'07 (Vin Vino, Palo Alto) : Spicy, some licorice, but also an offputting rubbery component. Full entry, then thins out. Not much breadth, weird tarry element, hot finish. Pretty much a disaster.
