Tasty and offering a ton of pleasure. A little less complex than the Wintricher bottling, but still quite nice. Soft yet elegant with sweet smoke and juicy fruit.

This bottle was overlooked in the inventory, otherwise it would have disappeared several years ago. I am not quite sure that it has really benefitted from ageing, probably due to the vintage. On the one hand it is surely precise and Keller-like, on the other hand it is also a bit ... not quite flabby, but kind of heavy, perhaps lacking the cut combined with freshness which made it irresistible in youth. Straightforward and just too nice: Sort of like the essence of the Mosel Kabinett sweetness and light, except that it is dry and has a little more weight. Great pleasure.

Like in the case of Julian Haart's Goldtröpchen and Ohligsberg I prefer his Piesporter over his Wintricher. With its caressing floral nose and lively teasing Mosel taste this is an utterly delicious wine. 12 % alcohol seems perfectly right.
