I think this is the correct entry in the database, although my bottle's label says 'Sonnenuhr Wehlen'. The cork broke but was extracted cleanly. Pale lemon colour, a little spritz. Wonderful aroma, broad and rich, with masses of fruit (apple, green grape, peach), and a strong, clean varietal character. Quite full bodied, plentiful sweetness, rather concentrated juiciness. Pear and mandarin. Not the highest acidity, but pretty well balanced. This is a very good example of the style, and feels like …

Yoghurt, cream, ripe pear, honeydew melon, a gentle whiff of petrol. Delicious drinkability with rounded mouth feel and nice minerality on a long finish. This is drinking well now but I reckon it will be even better with 5 more years.

A whiff of petrol and elderflower on the nose. The palate is rich with peach, orange, mango and elderflower again. Lovely cleansing acidity and all this with just 7.5% alcohol. 64.3g residual sugar, higher than I would expect from a Kabinett.

Appearance is golden, medium intensity, clear and lovely. On the nose, this gave out a lovely citrus and green apple perfume, and just a hint of petroleum overtones. On the palate, it tastes of stone fruits, peachy and green apples with a touch of vanilla; slightly fizzy with a lovely medium acidity- a mini explosion of flavours in your mouth! Medium length with a very slight bitter aftertaste. After an hour or so, you get tropical fruits - mostly pineapple …

Extremely fresh and open nose of green apple, carambola, stonefruit and honey, with some leesy notes. The nose doesn't come off all that sweet. On the palate the wine has good weight without being heavy. The flavor profile is a sweet'n'sour mix of fruit: apple, pear, grapefruit and stony minerality. This is not the most acidic wine by Mosel standards but yet it has an exceptional drinkability. Very fresh and juicy; a great summer wine.
