Vin Chicago Holiday Wine & Champagne Tasting (Makray GC, Barrington) : A blend of Garnacha, Trepat, Parellada, Monastrell and Xarel-lo based on the 2023 vintage, disgorged April 2025. Pale pink color with a lingering mousse. Aromas of strawberry, clay and florals. Fine bead. The palate follows the bouquet. Very nice.

Nice intensity of strawberries and cream, fresh with some nut notes. Not remarkable but pleasant

This was good but it needs food. There is not much residual sugar; instead there was a slight bitterness on the palate. My companions agreed that it was grapefruit (I tend to read tropical as bitter). This would be a good brunch wine as a mimosa substitute for slightly savory dishes. It would be very good with an asparagus frittata that's been allowed to brown on top, maybe add a couple drops of hot sauce. Crispy hash browns and scrambled …

Decent Cava, with crisp acidity, good weight, and red berry and stone fruit flavors. Bubbles are a bit coarse and rustic. Not as refined as raventos but very quaffable.

Fairly bland cava. Not a lot of flavor, but not offensive

Lovely value wine, with a fine, linear, crunchy texture. Pleasingly tart, but not too shrill. Not very "pink" in color or taste; very light-bodied. Small bubbles and clean, crisp finish. Very enjoyable.

Light pink color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. This was certainly slurpable. Would have been great to be drinking this out on the deck tonight. I found the balance to be very good, nothing bitter or out of place. Red berry fruit, just a touch of tropical fruit, lightly yeasty, creamy texture, very even handed and delicate. A nice Cava that you can take to the bank. 89+pts or better.

Sharp acidity. Pale red fruit and a fairly polished texture. Nice showing, would not go looking for more.

Fairly pale rose/salmon. Red berries and strawberries on the nose. Pretty, with red berry notes on the palate, and tart citrus into the finish. Quite dry, with plenty of acidity. Not much complexity, and the midpalate is quite hollow. Not great, but not a bad sparkler for the money.

I thought this was solid, dirty in the way of Cali-roses, and that's a really good thing. Fruity, rose nose but wonderful dirt, baked fruit notes that finish pretty long. Good value.

Medium-light rose. Very fine bead. Medium note of red berries. Light, effervescent body, tart. Unique, but fairly simple, with a somewhat hollow midpalate, but the finish shows its rose notes with tart red berries and cranberries. Quite pleasant.

says rosada/rosado, looks more like an aged white. it can't decide if it's white or pink, as the flavor profile changes minute to minute. not the last word in depth, it's definitely easy to drink, if a bit tart

Notes after 1 hour open. Very pretty and very light copper color. Gentle and very fine mousse. Light intensity of peach, licorice, and melon aromas. Smooth and sweet on the palate but it also has a nice grip, reminiscent of Bandol. Lots of pink grapefruit, watermelon, lemon-lime fruits. Fairly long finish, too. Food friendly and particularly with spicy dishes. I think if you're going to serve a sparkling rosie to a Sunday football crowd, this is an excellent choice. 5+9+15+7=86

I think it is really important to stress that this is a GOOD bottle of wine compared to bottles of NV champagne that are $40/btl wholesale. This destroys PJ or Veuve NV. When you find out it is $12 wholesale you may crap yourself. Sorry to be vulgar but this is a delicious bottle if you don't know the price. It is mind-bending if you do. Lapierre Morgon (the normal cuvee) is the only bottle of wine I can see …

Light pink-tinged yellow color with lots of speedy, tiny bubbles; honeyed, yeasty, pear cream, almond cream nose; creamy textured, yeasty, almond, tart poached pear, mineral palate with bright, medium acidity; memdium-plus finish (60% Monastrell, 40% Xarel-lo) 90+ points

This one is the experimental blanc-de-noir made from Monastrell grapes. Starts off with aromatic strawberry flavors, has crisp acidity and a long, minerally finish.

Drank all six as part od the Garagiste side-by-side tasting. This finished third. No good notes as we consumed them on New Year's Eve. I decanted all for only about 3 hours.

Deep golden trending to slight orange tinge with fine mousse. Citrus marmalade with a hint of pear, honey and a hint of toast on the nose. Bright acidic citrus, grapefruit/lemon cream with a bit of honey lime on the palate. A delicious cava.

Light golden almost orange color with light bead action. Light aroma of fresh yeast. Apple, citrus, melon and yeast flavors with lengthy metallic finish. Not unpleasant, but different.
