What a beautiful wine! Soaring aromatics, worth maybe even more than 91. Palate almost lives up and is very satisfying. Some northern/cool acidity

We are fans of Panther Creek Pinots. The 2014 De Ponte is decidedly not in the typical style of Panther Creek, but a very good wine nonetheless. Surprisingly dark color with a dark berry nose, the palate reveals a lighter tone of pomegranate. The usual Panther Creek gravelly, clay tannins are mostly missing, but the tannins present complement the wine. Better with our seared salmon than merely quaffing.

Very nice pinot. Less fruity/strawberry than most Pinot from Oregon/Washington. Surprising amount of spice/pepper.

Heavy earth and mineral nose. Lively acidity. Plum, red currant, a note of cranberry, with hints of lime and pepper.

The nose and palate feature terroir driven elements. A wine of good power, stalwart acid, gripping mouthfeel, and solid finish. 90-91.
