pnp - a lot of "wow" for the first 20-30 minutes after opening. layered depth, full-range fruit, more rich than i would've expected at this age. then, a bit thin over the next hour or so. developed some nice earthy, smoky, dustiness beyond the 90-minute mark.

91-92, drinking really nicely. Cherry fruit-forward but with nice Willamette Valley earthy notes. Went well with Thanksgiving meal. Amazing quality given how young the vines were - just 3-4 years old at harvest, if I recall correctly.

Pop and pour - note after 1 hour. Dark cherries and pomegranate on the powerful nose. Similar on the palate with additional hints of cola and spice. Rather big and fruit forward for Oregon - but really nice balance.

The chehalem AVA come though in this pinot. Aroma of red cherry and the chehalem earth on both the nose and palate. The acidity and tannin are well balanced and produce a nice mouth feel. Drinking well now and should over the next year or two.

Classic 09 Oregon Pinot with a jubilant fruit forward body and smooth finish. Definitely a wine that's ready to go now and what I consider a great Tuesday night wine.

A nice bottle of wine. A little thinner than some of the others from this region, but strawberries, cherries and cream are present. I don't see much here that I think will improve with age, so drink up.

Very deep rose red color and ever so slightly cloudy. Immense nose of strawberry, raspberry, and the smoke notes I love so much in Oregon Pinot. A very classic Oregon Pinot nose. Attack echoes the red fruits, with almost a cardamom spicy overtone. Alcohol is a little hot on the mid palate. Tanins are between velvet and smooth on the mouth feel. Acids are overbearing. A little more age might help integration but I don't foresee this becoming an exceptional …

A pre-birthday visit to some new places in the Willamette Valley : Today the aroma is giving nothing but tons of very spicy fruits. Again spicy, tart red/green fruit on the palate. The finish is tart and a little bitter. Makes me pucker.

Mountains to Metro (Heritage Ballroom in the Governor Hotel) : Nice exuberant red fruit on the nose, slightly medicinal, like low quality synthetic vitamins... however, it's actually pleasing. The palate is like a rubber band, with good acidity. It's light on fruit, with slight tannins and tight acids. Fairly structure. Some candied green fruit on the finish, with tart spice.
