maybe a bit past her prime, but still very good. aerated & decanted, then left to rest overnight, then aerated once more. a lot of sediment on the shoulders of the bottle and cork. subtle and mature, well rounded and alluring. each sip enticed us to have another. nothing overwhelming about this cab. everything seamed in balance and harmonious.

This was an excellent wine that, unfortunately, has gone past its prime. The color is fading, and it is losing its notes. It is turning to a thin blend. Drink up what you have, in one sitting.

Cleaning out my old dead dogs. Expected this wine to be way over the hill. What a surprise! Cork was perfect. Deep ruby red color. Smoke, toasty oak and vanilla aromas. Medium body with smooth tannins, elegant, dark berry fruit, hints of chocolate and minerals. Finishes long and classy. Last bottle from a case that was purchased over 20 years ago probably for $20/bottle. Will the $100+ bottles of California Cabs dominating the market even come close to this kind …

A bit on the downhill slide, but still a good wine after 12 years. Somewhat flat on the nose, but good fruit left on the finish. Decanted for 1 hr. Drink now.

Upon opening everything a California cab could offer very nice. A day later astrigent and lacking the fullness and depth that was evident 18 hours ago, was now ,strickingly lacking , now the wood, the oak was evident in the bouquet, and to the palet. The fruit has dissapeared from the nose. A hint of sour cherry, rasberry sweet raisin on the palet.

Didn't expect a whole lot from this wine, but it was actually quite nice. Complex and structured without massive tannin. Good example of California fruit with good acidity.

Medium bodied - pleasurable easy drinking wine, not very complex but showing a predominant layer of sweet oak tinged vanilla and mocha with a hint of anise integrated into the black cherry and dark berry fruit flavors. Very nice complement to the grilled filet of beef with lettuce wedge, blue cheese, red onions and tomato salad at the Grand Cafe at Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Cherries, kirsch and a little vanillin oak on the nose. Medium bodied with classic Cali Cab flavors; black currant, spices, licorice. Moderate/high acidity gives it some lift, but this wine lacks natural concentration and is somewhat one dimensional. Good, but this is pretty standard stuff.

Weak nose, mildly smoky cherry palate, black currant. Short finish. Pleasant to drink with simple fare but could perhaps stand up to a slightly heavier meal. Great daily for the price.

I think I found my favorite everyday wine. Bag of cherry flavor lik-a-maid to the nose, candied oak and black cherry to the palate. Tomorrow will involved another trip to buy more.

Great daily drinking cab. Not much of a nose, but nice palate, some good herb-y notes, pleasant but short finish. Soft tannins and no heat. Not much oak. Surprisingly easy drinking for such a young one, but I'm not complaining.

Deep brick red color. Aromas of tobacco and roasted red bell pepper; not a style everyone will appreciate, but I like it. Medium bodied, with slighty chalky tannins and flavors of red fruit and herbs.

Opaque purple robe with violet rim. Clean nose, showing fairly intense aromas of black and red currants, spice and vanilla. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, medium sweet tannins and flavors mirroring the nose. The mouth texture is silky and the middle palate is solid. The flavors mirror the nose and the medium-length finish is smooth. This producer seems to consistently make nice, easy-to-drink Cabernet at a reasonable price (year after year). Drink now-12/14.

Bought in 1996 and cellared at 57 degrees ever since. Nice mature cali cab. Slight bricking at edges, translucent, light to medium bodied for a cab. Some earth, soil to be exact, raisin, dried fruit, figs and dark cherries on nose. Really a wonderful spice box nose. Very full, spicy, medium length, mouth coating melange of flavors on palate. Nice weight for a warmish socal night on patio with tri tip and roasted root veg. Have one more and doesn't …

Consumed at home (with Cathleen out-of-town) with canned vegetable beef soup. Bright disc. Opaque purple robe with violet rim. Clean nose, showing a whiff of (tolerable) brett, along with assorted black fruits, vanilla and cedar. Medium-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, medium sweet tannins and similar black fruit-dominated flavors. Medium, smooth finish. Quite drinkable, but somewhat unidimensional.
